Wilton Mini Angel Food Cake Pan, 4-Cavity

I wanted this pan to make angel food cake but questioned whether or not they would stay in the pan since they have to be cooled upside down. A quick question to other amazon.com purchasers set my mind at ease about that issue. And they were right. The cakes stay in the pan while cooling. Even though the pan is non-stick I worried because the pan shouldn't be oiled when baking angel food cakes but clean-up was easy. The residue rinses right off. The metal is sturdy and heavy. I'm betting this is a pan that will get passed on to heirs! A big asset is that the pan includes a recipe for angel food cake which makes just enough batter to fill the four cups. Great item and it will get lots of use as it certainly can be used to bake any small, individual cakes. Finally, so many recipes make enough to feed an army so having just four of any cake is a big asset for me. Highly recommended.

This pan gave me a perfect batch of mini angel cakes for desert. This was my first time baking an angel cake from scratch and I was impressed. I had to quickly soak in hot soapy water to clean the pan as I didn’t want it to rust but pan was to crusty to clean without a soak first. Be careful washing funnel inserts as the edges are sharp and I gave myself a nasty paper cut (metal cut?) The pan still appears brand new with no rust or scratches after cleaning and baking. Some reviewers mentioned the bottom openings leaking but as I used a half sheet baking sheet with a silicone liner and carefully placed my pans in oven I had no leakage issues.

I was looking for a smaller tube-like pan for small cake items, and this works great, but...Please take care in trying to wash this pan and the inserts by hand. There are sharp edges on them! Ouch!

Loved the mini angel food cakes made in Thai pan. Just the right size, they worked perfectly to hold the angel food while it was inverted to cool, and the cakes came out of the pan perfectly. I can’t seem to make a full size angel food cake for anything, but these mini ones were amazing!

Definitely has some sharp edges on the removable bottom pieces, but makes great little angel food cakes. I wouldn't use this pan for other kinds of cake since the batter could run out from the bottom, only angel food cake or other cakes with very thick batters. Dishwasher safe makes it A+ in my book.

The cake mixture drizzled out the bottom. The cone in the middle is removable.I’m not a great baker- maybe I was doing something wrong. Too bad..

These are great pans. I got four to make mini (personal-size) chiffon cakes. They are just the right size. The inner funnel lifts out, as you would expect for this shape of pan. The pans are sturdy and don't bend or flex, so they seal well when the funnel is set in for each cake. Personally, I don't care for nonstick, but clean-up was a breeze. I've used the pans three times already. I was worried about the nonstick affecting cake rise, but my chiffon cake recipe rose perfectly, and still developed a nice blond to brown exterior.

One box of angel food cake will make 12 mini cakes. Should have bought another pan....
