A double cd of cd 1 is Gilberto s full cd album: languid, soulful and relaxing, a bit like a latin Nora Jones. Only a couple of tracks up the tempo to good effect, but overall its a little bit underwhelming for this reviewer.Cd2 is remixes which as a former dj i had heard some good tracks, but the mixes are all over the place as a listening experience : uptempo breezy techno and drum n bass with more loungy relaxed offerings. The trouble is its a mess to listen too. Better buy one of the dance remixers own cd s fir rather more consistent listening experience. This double cd is a miss.

I've had this album for a while, I must admit it's excellent value containing the classic bestseller Tanto Tempo with the remix album. Tanto Tempo has had more remixes done over the last few years by various outfits than any other album I could think of, it's the remixes of tracks that misled me to listen to them in there original format. As I have found the whole Tanto Tempo experience quite downtempoe to dull, there's some refreshing electronica and bossa nova and Bebel's voice is perfect latino and fresh . Generally a quite refreshing summer chilled sound but to me it's more middle of the road and the hype of Bebel Gilberto's background has helped to escalate Tanto tempoe's popularity, and it's from the same mould as Norah Jones, if you like that sort of sound . The remix album is good as a bonus but there have been better mixes.Good value but nothing special and certainly not enough of a performance here to call her the new girl from Ipanema.
