Two Fat Ladies Obsessions

I am a great fan of the "Two Fat Ladies", so I greatly appreciated having another one of their cookbooks and reading so much about their background and the wonderful things that they learned in life and shared with everyone. Such great down to earth ladies. I love them.

If you were fortunate enough to see the televised program of The Two Fat Ladies in the 1990's, they were hilarious, sharp tongued and really good cooks. The recipes are not difficult but even if you never make some, just reading about them is terrific.They usually prepared food for large groups : schools, hunting clubs, upper class English institutions and the like, and did so with aplomb. There are some recipes that I have made over and over and some I have never tried. (I don't cook rabbit or quail or some other things). However, I suggest you buy this as a gift for someone who likes to cook, or better yet, for yourself. You deserve it.

Smelled like strong smoke to where it has been in the garage for three weeks. I will probably have to throw away.

I miss these two so much. Especially Jennifer, I have all the show on dvd 📀 still miss them.

This is truly a great cookbook. Many recipes easy to follow and quite differnat than what "Americans" are used too. its fun to make the recipes. And having a truly authentic english dinner.

There is something about these ladies and recipes that stands apart from other chefs and their books. The ladies are as interesting as the food!

I really enjoyed watching their TV series (amazing now that it was first aired over 20 years ago) and being amused at their interplay. I am by no means anywhere near being what I would call a chef, but I decided to buy the book as a little memento of them. I then found being surprised at a number of the recipes that were certainly within my capabilities and, like all good cook books should be, easily explained. With the winter months drawing near, just the time to try out some of the heartier recipes.The only slight disappointment, given that it was unusual for them to be travelling around with a motorcycle and sidecar combination, that not much info is given about it. Other than this omission, the book is a great read and not pompous in its presentation.
