They do work pretty well on a landscape lighting transformer but...
These work great. They are designed to work with 12 Volt DC. Unfortunately, landscape lighting transformers are 12 volt AC. Since these are "LED" (light emitting diodes), you will see flicker if these are on during the daytime. This shouldn't be a problem because they shouldn't be on during the daytime. The reason they flicker, is current can only move one direction through a diode. This means you will see a visible flicker 30 times per second as the AC current reverses polarity. The good news is this is not a problem at night. The bulbs glow enough between the AC (alternating current) cycles that you don't notice it. As for some more good news, I've had mine for 2 - 1/2 years and the bulbs have held up very well. To date, no bulbs have burnt out on a similar strand of lights. (Not this exact brand). I've since purchased this brand and I'm getting similar results. Some things to keep in mind... If you're going to connect them to an AC landscape lighting transformer, you're probably voiding the warranty. Also, some advanced transformers offer both 12 volts and 15 volt outputs. The 15 volt is available to compensate for voltage drops over long lengths of cables because low voltage doesn't travel well over long lengths of cable without loosing voltage. If you have one of these transformers, be sure to hook it up to the 12 volt supply. You will burn out the bulbs if your strand is first in line from the transformer.I had a strand that worked perfectly at the end of the line but blew up half a strand when it was at the front of the line. I say "half a strand" because you can indeed split them in half (or whatever) if you intend to connect them to a landscape lighting transformer. As long as I was voiding the warranty, I decided to cut my strand in half and have two half-sections in different parts of the yard.I will buy another stand since I'm continuing to expand the lighting in my garden and although I blew a few bulbs by feeding them 14 volts, I now know what I'm doing. Some final advice, if you're going to try this, try it with only one bulb installed for a night or two. If they fail, they fail quickly. If they don't fail, they seem to last a long time.

High quality cords and connectors, nice bulbs, and great light output
Used two strings of these to light up an off-grid cabin (running directly from 12v battery), and they are excellent. They provide a surprising amount of light, plenty for general ambient light in a cabin (figure one string will reasonably light ~400sqft, and the bulbs have a nice look. While they won't be exposed to weather in my current use, the provided connectors are well sealed and tight fitting, and can easily be switched from the provided (120vac->12vdc) transformer to direct 12vdc. Cables are well insulated, and should hold up well.**UPDATE after less than a year, and 10-20 hours of use**I'm running these from a deep cycle battery, which isn't charged in place, so as clean as power can be; so far I've had to replace 5 bulbs on two strings, since they started flickering / turning off. Still seem well made, just not those bulbs.

Product doesnt work, JUNK. UPDATED!!
I purchased the 48ft 12 volt string lights with bulbs. The bulbs are absolute JUNK. None of them work correctly. Some blink on and off and some are partially lit. The string in my case is running on a 12 volt battery that is being properly charged so it is not a power supply issue. I also have some other brand 12 volt LEDs on the system and they are flawless. Save your money don't by this JUNK.The Manufacturer sent me a new set of these bulbs and they work perfectly. I can only assume I got 12 or so that where defective. Thank You beccalighting we will use this product again

48ft is completely misleading
The lights and strands are of nice quality. The color of the bulbs are also nice with a CRI of 88 which is decent. My issue with these lights is they're stated as being 48ft long, which is completely misleading. The seller or manufacturer of these lights is counting the lead wire on the light strand into the total of the length. The lead cord is 10ft long and doesn't have any light sockets, so why would you count it in the total length. I think we're all here to buy a string of lighting... not a bare cord. The real length is 38ft.

So far, really good
So far so good. These seem well made and provide the right amount of light; a good balance of not too bright, and at the same time providing the light we were looking for. Very happy.(When leaving this review it asks the reviewer to score “remote control”. I put a one star as there is no ability to control remotely. I installed a sold separately, low voltage switch to do that... and really glad I did by the way.)

Nice lights, useless warranty
Love the lights, however one bulb burned out after a few days of use and I had to use a spare. When I contacted Beccalighting via their website and e-mail and they have ignored all contact. Be warned that you might get no help if something goes wrong.

LOVE
Love these! I didn’t use the remote so that’s why I didn’t star that. Super bright and so cute! Needed them for an outdoor vendor event and everyone loved them!

Great Low Voltage Lights
120V plug in or optional 12V pigtail for transformer or battery use makes this a nice universal set up for almost any application.A remote control unit with dimming capability would make this a perfect product

Perfect for household use !
We previously used 110v string lightfrom Costco but they kept tripping the breaker after a year or something. We decided to use this low voltage string light instead. So far there hasn't been any problem. Solid quality and feel very heavy. They are also very bright for just using 12 volt. Recently we bought Beccalighting power supply which as a night sensor setting and it is even better. The whole set up is just so perfect for household use.

Great quality
Finally i decided to go with this outdoor string light as it is low voltage which is perfect and safe for outdoor. It cost a little bit more than other 120V string lights but it makes me feel more secured especially when i have two boys and 3 big dogs.It feels very safe as the whole light strings and all LED bulbs are low voltage. In places like Toronto, you get - 20 degree during winter and 35 degree during summer, so it is very important to use safe products for outdoor purposes. The light string feels very sturdy. LED Bulbs give a very nice warm touch just like incandescent color. Each bulb uses only 2 watts of power so it is about 24 - 25 watts for the whole light string. It will probably cost only like 5 dollars if i leave it on all year around.Great product from this manufacturer!

Great quality, warm, clear lights and sturdy cable
I really like these lights and I have them set up in a remote location hooked up to an RV battery with a solar panel. The quality is very good and the glass bulbs are nice. No problems with the install, just need to add a remote control (which I have orderd).

Good product / good service
l had some quality issues with those lights and I contacted the after sales service. They have been really fast to respond and verry profesional, they sent me a all new unit for free with a tracking number and a nice hand writen saying they have been testing it personaly and it should work fine. It is working great now! I use it in a cabine off the grid with a 12v solar / generator power system. Great product and great service, l might just have been not lucky the first time.
