Impressive quality. Heavy, but sturdy. Waterproof
Actually, this is an impressive bit of kit and I'm glad I got it.Firstly - very obviously really good quality, from a reputable manufacturer. Not cheap though. IMHO you get what you pay for.Next - it has a really useful protective case that serves to protect the glass surfaces of each 50W (hinged) glass panel.Next - it really IS waterproof - check out Will Prowse video on YT, where he soaks it with the hose for 20 minutes - it still works great. This is important in UK!!OK, so it's heavy, and fairly bulky compared with the flimsy filmy panels. At 100W it is also less powerful than a good many of these lightweight flimsy panels. That said, I'm glad I got this Renogy one rather than the flimsy type - there can be issues with the robustness and reliability of the lighter panels. Also they blow over easily. They are, however, cheaper, lighter, less bulky and maybe more powerful, but not waterproof. The Renogy one is easier to ensure the sun's light falls at 90 degrees to the PV surface - you can more easily align the elevation and the azimuth angle as it is a rigid panel and it has a good adjustable frame for the elevation (obviously you have to keep adjusting the azimuth angle manually every so often as the sun moves around the sky). The flimsy ones usually don't have a frame (so you have to make one out of plastic pipework), or if they do have a frame, it isn't robust and so the surface of the PV is all over the place. The controller is easy to use and easy to set up for your battery type. It shows you the voltage, amps and total amps delivered to your battery. It shows you when your battery is full. Obviously you're wasting your time in cloudy weather, but when the sun shines I get a good voltage (14+) and a good current 3.6A seems easy to reach, but I think it will go higher in good conditions. I doubt it would charge a 120Ah battery from flat, but at least it seems to keep the battery in status quo when the fridge is on (which takes about 36A from the battery over a 24hr period). So in reasonably sunny conditions, I reckon it will give my battery 40A or so over the daylight hours, more if I'm around to manually move it to "track" the sun as the day goes on.On the whole, it seems like a reasonable solution to keep my battery topped up when I'm on a site with no EHU and the sun is likely to shine. Really, instead of a 120Ah AGM battery, I should have gone for a 200Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate - this would last me 2 - 3 days without draining and damaging the battery too much before I was then able to get EHU and charge it back up with the Victron charger. Or, conversely drive around a good bit to charge from the alternator. A solar panel is a bit of an expensive way to charge your battery in those infrequent circumstances when you are off-grid for a longer period of time and not driving your van around. Still, no regrets and yes, it has been useful. There is also a sense of smug satisfaction that you are getting "green energy" to charge your van battery. It's a talking point too with the other campers (most of whom might have drilled holes in their roof to take the roof-mounted solar panels - another reason for having a portable suitcase solar one)!

Extremely well built and appointed
Four Stars so far, and that's based simply on opening the box. I'll add the last star after I've had chance to properly test the Solar Suitcase. This came double boxed (good ol' Amazon) and the delivery driver struggled! Scared me a bit at first but soon found that the HUGE outer box contained the manufacturer's box and miles of padding. Now down to its true size this impressed from the very first. The zipped outer protective semi-rigid case is excellent and will be all that the panels will need. The Black surround and sprung carrying handle with really positive closing latches (all black) is impressive, like a piece of kit in a tuxedo and bow-tie! Inside the cabling is excellent with standard solar panel connectors between both panels and PWM controller and controller and battery clips (the generous battery lead is also fused), the connectors are polarised to prevent reversing the leads. The support legs are properly engineered (unlike some that I've seen!) and the good sized fixings are also black, well done! No dodgy cut-off leg ends either, there are feet. Advert didn't say or show (but a YouTube review did) that the controller is on hinges (but retained to the back of the panel by velcro) so that it can be swung out vertical for reading while the panels are tilted to collect maximum sunshine - such a nice touch and no grovelling on the ground to read your amps. On top of this it is waterproof - in the UK this is very important. I'll update after testing but this shows real promise and is a beautifully made piece of kit - The electric coolbox and the tent lighting will love it.

A great panel with a zip up case.
This is a very good panel, I paid £150 for the 100 watt with a 20 Amp controller,I use the panel to charge my two 100AH AGM caravan batteries when off grid camping.I have wired the batteries with mc4 conectors, so that this panel will plug into the caravan electrics without any problems, The panel starts to charge as soon as the light hits it, even on overcast days. This is some thing lm glad l brought

Excellent bit of kit.
Very pleased with this. Got it for my campervan but also use it in my back garden to charge laptop and power tool batteries. I'm in Ayrshire, Scotland and in midday sunshine conditions I've been getting up to 7.4 amps. It's a bit heavier than I expected but the quality is excellent.

Quality product ... but no temperature sensor included
I really like this, well built, and the case makes it easy to store. I've just used it to recharge my BEAUDENS 166Wh Portable Power Generator, it was a mainly sunny day in March and it did it in no time. My only regret is buying the model with the Voyager controller because it's unnecessary with the Beaudens which has its own built-in MPPT.I'm thinking of getting another one, so will go for the model without the controller next time.My only criticism is that the description states "Included temperature sensor allows you to monitor with ease" but no temperature sensor is included.

really good product
We brought this to take away for a long weekend as we had no power for our caravan. It kept the battery charged up well. It is a nice quality product and are very pleased with it
