A Mystery Within a Mystery
I though this story was well thought out and while there were lots of clues nicely rolled out as to the killer, I did not pick up on it. I particularly liked the poodles in the story, I think they added the realism that the story needed. There was also an interesting feature that the main character does throughout the story that essentially gives you a second cozy murder to contemplate. I don't want to spoil the story so I will only say that while I read a lot of mysteries, this was a very unique feature of this book. Despite all this really good stuff in this book, I have 4 stars instead of 5 because for some reason this was a slow read for me. Not sure why and so while I can reD a mystery in a day or two, this one toolbox week. I am glad I persevered and completed this one. I would recommend it.

Another fun romp with Sam and her senior friends
Still enjoying this series very much!!!! I love Sam, she has an interesting posse, with her nephews, Grandma Jo and the wild seniors who are her friends, Frank and of course her fur babies. This mystery starts on a bus when Sam, Jo and the senior ladies are coming home from a shopping spree, eating out and theater splurge after Christmas. When a gentleman that Irma picks up in Chicago is killed on the bus of course the team is going to be involved. A very interesting mystery and fun with the gang!

fantastic author
i have read all of the two dog series that ms burns has written. love them and wait impatiently for the next book in each series. well plotted mysteries, engaging characters, and best of all................no profanity or sex. there is a great deal of info regarding dog shows and dog training for the animal lovers. my neighbors and i share books and there is always an inquiry into whether there is another one out or coming soon. these are really good books!!!

Fun, Well-Rounded Cozy
Sam, Nana Jo and the Sleuthing Seniors are enjoying a shopping spree in Chicago via a bus chartered by Shady Acres. On the last day of the trip they load up and start heading home to North Harbor, MI. During a pit stop one of the passengers has been murdered and the girls are thrown into sleuthing mode. Who is the man that was killled, and why?Another fun mystery filled with a cozy-within-a-cozy, action, danger, comraderie and Nana Jo's antics (LOVE her). This is such a well-rounded series filled with strong female leads and friendships akin to sisterhood. The only downside is now I'm stuck waiting for the next one to be released 🤣.

don't start this when you need to go do something else
because you will sit and finish the book... like all of V.Burn's books, this one is a sweet mystery. It holds your attention, doesn't have a lot of lurid or gross imagery and is just a good old fashioned whodunit like I love to read. Thanks once again. You've hit another home run out of the park.

Another winner
I love Ms. Burns Mystery Bookstore series. She does a wonderful job with the mystery within a mystery element in her books and I always feel like I’m getting two books for the price of one. Also, I’m from Michigan and love the clever way she has renamed real places in her stories. Jesus and Mary University always makes me smile. If you look at a map of southwestern lower Michigan you’ll figure out quickly the real name of that school!

really good series
Good writing, good characters, good settings, good stories...what more could you want?? I really enjoy the "elderly" characters in these books and their antics. They really keep the stories moving along and interesting, and make these books hard to put down--at least for me.I really enjoy this series and hope the next book comes out soon.

A great read
I love the premise of this series--the owner of a mystery book store also writes mysteries, and she solves one on paper and another in real life. The characters are well developed and the plot will keep you guessing. This is a cleverly crafted series and I highly recommend it.

A great cosy mystery which was difficult to put fuen.
This was a great cosy mystery with a great storyline and. few twists to keep you guessing until the end. Plenty of involvement in the story by the young and elderly. The ending kept me guessing !!!

Good read
Could have done without the main character’s book. Distracts from the story and not needed. I skipped those parts entirely.
