One of the best in a series. The author does meticulous research on birth control and abortion using plants And it takes place in Texas. Women in Texas will be needing this information

Fun historical/current read
This as all the previous China Baylee books have been interting reads. The mixing of the past and present made the book more interesting. Enjoyable as all of her books!

Turned off the TV
This is one of Susan Wittig Albert's better books. If you enjoy putting together puzzle pieces from the past, this book delivers that. Although likely improbable that so many things would line up, the book was entertaining in that it reflected on China's shop a century before. An old box of lace and a few pictures are discovered in a storage room that lead China to a present day connection. There is a lot of switching back and forth between time frames -- which I like -- thinking how events of the past sometimes determine the present. Although I usually read when I have time, I found that I made time for this book. Well done.

Queen Anne's Lace.
In this China Bayles story there is no murder. This is a telling of both the past and the present. The storys come together in the end.China is looking for the ghost who is haunting her store. The story of the past brings us to know the ghost who is communicating with China. She is surprised the ghost is trying to communicate with her when Ruby is the mystic friend. China with the help of her friends is able to find out who the ghost is. This is a well written story and as soon as I got into it I could not put it down.

Queen Anne's Lace...an Interesting Mystery
Queen Anne 's Lace is a common weed found everywhere. Who knew it could have so many uses. I found the information provided to be interesting while the mystery was unraveled. I loved the outcome for Caiti's chickens too. That was very touching and a total surprise.

Another winner
I was a bit wary when I read of the ghost in this book (usually passing up books with ghosts), but so was China. Two stories--one from the past, told in alternate chapters, provide information about the home that houses China's business and the family that lived there. As always, the beauty is in the details Albert provides as China solves more than one mystery.

Interesting as usual
I am catching up on some China Bayles books I seemed to have missed over the years. Thoroughly enjoyed them all, always interesting and amusing but also interesting and informative about herbs. The recipes are also welcome too.

Another absolute winner!
This is, as is expected from Ms. Wittig Albert, a brilliant book and totally engaging. Never have I read anything written by Ms Albert and/or with her husband that I have not re-read several times!Another totally gripping and fascinating series are the “Robin Paige” books she wrote with her husband. I spend a lot of time looking up interesting historical or other facts prompted by their books.PLEASE keep writing!!

Well written researched and keeps you turning pages until the early hours
As always the China series is brilliant and I feel a sense of loss when I reach the end of the book. Then eagerly awaiting the next!

4.4 Sterne.
