Worked great
It seems they offer an "old work" version, but this worked great, and easy to install. I included a pic of the packaging that gives some other part numbers. There was a nice pattern to cut the hole. I gently disassembled the vinyl siding, cut the hole with an oscillating saw, placed the box, and replaced the siding. This is a perfect match to the one installed by the builder, so we have three years knowledge proving sturdy and weatherproof.

Looks good, seems well made
Looks amazing. I went to buy the normal ones in the store and hated how bulky and awkward they looked. They would have stuck out so far and just looked terrible. Went on Amazon in the store and found these. The price is actually better than all of the stuff you'd have to buy in the store because you save buying the mounting plate and the box and just buy this. The outlet isn't supplied but it does come with 2 faceplates. Installed with new siding and it looks good. Note, you will have to cut into the sheathing or whatever you have under your siding so it fits because they are actually bulky, it's just hidden. Can't comment on the durability because I just installed them but they seem like they're well made. I'll try to update my review if they make me mad in any way.

So much nicer looking - installs and works great!
These outlet boxes are so much better than the old-fashioned metal outdoor covers or the giant yellowed in-use waterproof box covers that I replaced. While these are marketed as new-construction, if you are handy with vinyl siding, you can indeed replace an existing j-block with this box. I have used this box both in new construction as well as retrofit applications, and now I will only use this style box for any outdoor outlet.I had wondered why it shows this including two face plates...they are slightly smaller than a standard face plate, in order to fit inside this box.NOTE:There are two options - one with a grey cover, and one with a white cover. I first ordered the grey cover, until I realized that the white cover looks much nicer (to me) since you don't see the outlet. Here is the option for the white cover: Arlington DBVS1W-1 Electrical Box with Weatherproof Cover for Vinyl-Siding, New-Construction, White, Vertical/1-Gang

Surprisingly durable
Nicely designed and fabricated product. It seems big, but it easily fits in 2x4 stud wall, and much of the rest will be covered by the vinyl siding. Because it must be so deep to accommodate both the electrical wall box for the outlet and the space for the electrical plugs, it makes it a bit difficult to wire, especially with the cover in the way. However the white plastic cover is very sturdy and can be popped off and back on with a pretty strong twist of a big screwdriver, although I doubt the manufacturer designed it for removal. The tiny clip-in plugs provided to keep wasps and other insects out would be better designed if they were captive or sliding as they are easily lost or misplaced.

Great, solid outdoor outlet
This is a solid outdoor outlet for new construction. I used the one for siding and placed Hardie Plank over it. It does stand away from the wall (even after the planks) but not so much that it is a problem. Glad I stumbled over this product while looking for something else. Installed 5 of them. With the wide flange on the outside, they are extremely sturdy and deep. One of the best electrical boxes I have ever installed for an outside box. Ran sealant under the flange, siding tape around it, and we'll see how it handles driving rain. For now, I'm very impressed with this product. The "clear" cover is more of a transparent smoky gray than actually clear. Should handle full sun well.

Perfect!
Tucked this under a storm shell for an outdoor tv and I wish I’d also used it for the door I added to my garage last year. Fabulous product.

Easy to install
These fit perfect to recess into a new build of vinyl siding. They don't sell these at the hardware so...very unique.

Not approved for Canadian Installations
I ordered this product for a client house after not being able to source one locally. Upon it arriving, I brought it to my client and they painted it before I installed it. Upon installing it I discovered that it's missing the ground clip ad required by Canadian Electrical Code.Arlington makes 2 part numbers of these items, one ending in GC and one not. The ones ending in GC are the ground clip part number for Canadian installations.I would not buy another one from them as the electrical inspectors have an issue with this.

Exactly what I needed
My backyard outlet was put directly over the vinyl siding and the gaps were filled in with a bunch of silicone. Certainly not ideal. Although this is intended for new construction, I used a vinyl siding tool to pull my siding off, installed this, then put my siding back on.
