Great watch with great features.VFM(extra watch face trick mentioned in the cons)
I was looking for a smart watch since many days, I had almost finalized amazefit gtr 47mm but suddenly saw honor magic watch 2's launch and I decided to buy this one.Options I looked before buying this watch were-Amazefit gtr, ticwatch e2, huawei gt2 and few others in 15k budget.Pros:1.Great battery life, watch came with 69% of charge, with continuous hr on + AOD for sometimes with all the notifications and few calls, it went till 3 and half day which was good for the first charge. For the second charge it's 74% left after 36 hours, hr continously on, calls, notifications as well sleep monitor on.2. Great display, good visibility outside, as it has an amoled display, blacks are great. Resolution is also good, text looks crystal clear.3. Gps and workout modes - gps workout mode works great and it's very accurate4. Heart rate sensor + sleep tracking is very accurate, I've compared hr sensor with my mio Fuse and it's accurate.5. Great build and design6. Calling feature is surprisingly good as I never thought I'll use that much. Volume is good enough to hear on the bike in traffic, person on the other side can't notice that you are talking from the watch.7. Bluetooth connectivity is very strong.Cons-1.Would have loved if there was a option to add more apps, like Google maps.2.Application doesn't have any option to take backup, though there are tricks if you have rooted phone but it's not for everyone.3.Limited watch faces. But I was able to install additional 11 watch faces from the app which is restricted to our region. ( if u have honor phone then make new UK account from honor website , select region UK on ur honor phone and login to UK account which u created and now you can download all the watch faces. Those watch faces will stay in ur phone permanently.)4.We can't reply to messages, they should enable this somehow.5.We can't see emojis and hindi - marathi language messages are not accurate.Overall it's the best smart watch your money can buy if you want a good battery backup. If you don't care about the battery backup then you can look for other Google wear watches.

The Complete Review
This is my very first smartwatch. Don't assume I am a late tech adaptor. I am quite a tech nerd who isn't afraid of trying new stuff. But I held off on purchasing a smartwatch till now because. One, I didn't want another device in my life that frequently needs charging! and Two, I really do not see unique uses of a smartwatch. Because everything a smartwatch does, our phone does it too & quite possibly does it BETTER! So this is not only a review of this smartwatch but also it will thread on whether smartwatches are worth in our life in the first place.1. Looks & Built quality: 5 star for this watch's physical appearance. The watch looks slick and subtle. Built quality is top notch. I have changed the rubber strap to a charcoal black metal chain one (I hate rubber and leather straps) and it really looks amazing!2. Battery life: Honor really did solve my apprehension of not buying a smartwatch due to it's frequent charging needs. With 10 days battery backup even after using always screen-on feature! This watch truly has amazing battery backup 6 out of 5 star on this alone.3. Notifications: There is a second delay in the screen to show the notifications. Other than that small thing I observed, this phone does the job of showing all phone notification perfectly. It's vibrator also has perfect intensity which again can be changed in the settings.4. Screen: The AMOLED screen looks amazing & top notch black levels! Except the interface is quite lagging. Many software update later, the screen lag did fix itself for most part. But still do not expect the interface experience to be equal to today's high end phones. Now if every smartwatches have lower FPS and it is the industry standard due to its small batteries, or this is a HONOR only issue, I do not know.5. GPS & Fitness tracker: It has all the bells and whistles you would expect regarding fitness and other health parameters tracking. I found the steps tracker to be at 90~95% accurate, now again if this is industry standard to have +- 10% error or there are trackers with far better options for the money, I do not know.6. Receiving/making calls: Not a huge fan of this. When you receive calls, the speaker is only moderately loud, and you cannot pick calls in a public space, and microphone is also only adequate. And you can only make calls from a pre-selected favorite contacts lists. I will not go into details, but this is more of a smartwatch gimmick than a really usable feature.7. Interaction: This is where the whole smartwatch ownership experience becomes significantly limited. This is not an interactive device, the information flows only from the device to you. The device lacks voice recognition. So you really cannot command your phone to do stuff through your watch. Now I have seen this watch in youtube using Siri in IOS (cannot confirm it's genuiness) but it cannot use google assistant in Android.8. Customization: Other than practically thousands of watch faces to choose from (in Huawei health app) and few other tweaks, there is not really much customization you can do to this watch to make it more useful. you cannot install any apps other than the ones that are already there. Now I am not saying this a Honor smartwatch issue, as I said this could be every smartwatch's issue.9. Media Management: There is option of music buttons like play/pause, forward etc. which works well with your phone. Now is this still a good buy? Definitely YES! the price is quite affordable and it still ticks most of the smartwatch thingies it needs to do. But as I said this review is also about whether we really need a smartwatch in our lives. Let's face it, they are still not that smart!
