Story telling with realness and heart
When do you ever see a book -comic or otherwise- featuring middle-aged , working-class women as central characters? A quietly radical book, Moms tells a story about middle-aged, working-class, Korean women (moms) as multi-dimensional characters with (broken) dreams, heartaches, romances, friendship, and grit. I love the realness and heart of this book. A must-read.

Some explanation of the last scene of Bong Joon-ho's Mother
You might have wondered what was the meaning of the last scene of Bong Joon-ho's *Mother*, which was full of ajumma figures dancing on an express bus. While Bong's representation was rather benign, Ajumma, middle-aged women, in S. Korean media had been usually represented as asexual, masculine, and less civilized. Such a misogynistic representation is recently challenged in various ways. This graphic novel is one of them, from the viewpoint of the son of a mother who is one from such a commonly seen group of middle-aged Korean women. They have their own love and hate, jealousy, and, also, desire. Highly recommendable to read

Great read about mature women's lives
This is a fantastic comic about the rich inner lives of mothers in South Korea. Just because they got married and raised their children doesn't mean their lives are over. They have emotional and sexual needs, which this book explores. They endure messy relationships with misogynistic men who mistreat them, family deaths, and workplace abuse while still trying to be there for their friends who are all experiencing comparable things. Sometimes they're envious of their friend's romantic situations, but every single one has its downfalls. The overall theme of the book seemed to be trying to find a happy medium between being understanding of others but also standing up for yourself to not be taken advantage of.As a westerner who doesn't know much about Korean culture, I found this comic extremely accessible and there were footnotes to explain certain locations and references.

Ordinary story with dark humour
Love the story as it is original. Not a big fan of the cartoon style but somehow it fits in the story. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book!
