Expensive, but worth it
The price of this fluctuates a lot. It was $129 when I discovered it, and thought maybe I should buy one, but it was $179 when I decided that I did need one and bought it. It is well made and was nearly perfect for what I needed it for. Then I saw another vendor had it for sale for only about $110 (with non-prime shipping) and I impulse bought a second one because the price was right. I gave it five stars for leak proof, but I don't rally know. It hasn't leaked on my yet, but I've never really tested that. It seems like it probably won't leak...The only real problem I see with this box, is that the two handles on top aren't usable one handed to carry it. Not a huge problem.

There is nothing else out there like it!
Love these food storage containers!!! I have searched high and low for a metal (I hate plastic) food storage system that has containers up to the largest size of these and despite the cost of these I couldn’t be happier!Another reviewer complained about how thin the metal is but the edges and lid are very rigid and I really don’t see why the sides having a little bit of flex is an issue. The lids fit very snugly. They are airtight and watertight and come in many different shapes and sizes - what more could one want?Ok the price is a bit steep but they are a purchase that will last a lifetime!I have purchased 4 of the largest size so far for my spare bags of flour, cornmeal, nuts and grains, and may still buy some smaller ones for flour and sugar.I recently had a infiltration of pantry beetles from a single bag of flour that spread to my chile peppers eek! I could have lost $100’s of dollars in ingredients, so for me these containers were worth the money to have that reassurance. I have never had pantry beetles before but all it takes is one bag of flour (mine came straight from King Arthur so it can come from the most reputable sources)Can’t recommend these highly enough! If this review was helpful to you please let me know below. It makes me very happy when my reviews help like-minded shoppers. You might also be interested in my other reviews (mainly food, cookbooks and kitchen equipment - oh and the occasional dog toy)Happy cooking!

Meh...Pretty flimsy: Trying to justify the $100 I paid for it, but can't!
Trying to figure out the secret for the exaltation the other reviewers can't help but sharing, because no matter how much I try - It ain't happening here... Maybe theirs is different or perhaps used to be made differently before. My container is preeety flimsy, you can easily push the sides in with one finger and the same goes for the cover. I like the size and shape of it, and it seems nicely made, good strong latches, but man, for almost $100 you guys could have definitely used a much thicker stainless steel sheet in China. For about the same price, you can buy one of these Heavy Duty13.25Gal/50L Stainless Steel Milk Cans with Sealed Lid. I already have 2 of those when they were cheaper and man they are seriously thick and heavy, don't drop those on your toes...These flimsy 15L however, you will need to be very kind with handling them, especially while loaded, if you want to maintain a secure seal, because it feels that it'll only take one wrong move and the sides or lip would deform and then say goodbye to your sealing feature.Sooaa...bottom line it would be just an OK container for maybe half price, but at this cost...it's kind of a rippoff, sized I would say -somewhere between rude and insulting. They must be pretty proud of the margins on this one over there...you know...

CAUTION: Lid may be stuck when you receive it
If the cover is stuck on when you receive it DO NOT try to pry it off. It’s NOT stuck, it’s air pressure. The cover is put on for shipping, if this container was assembled on a relatively low pressure day compared to the day you try to take the cover off, air pressure will make it seem like the lid is stuck on. Warm up the container, it will increase the internal air pressure and the cover will come right off. This can happen because of how well it’s constructed to seal. The picture shows four 5 pound bags of flour inside, they fit with a little room to spare which is perfect. Even though it’s stainless steel it’s thin so it’s not too heavy but it’s sturdy enough for its purpose.

Absolutely the best metal storage container made
Over the last 40 years, I have built several types of Survival kits, and the containers ranged from plastic to Aluminum and Stainless steel. I recently purchased three different sizes of this container manufactured in South Korea, and found them to be of the highest quality, made to the highest standards. I will use them for a new Survival kit for boaters, and it will contain 10 4.225 oz packets of emergency drinking water, emergency food bars and lots of other survival gear. I especially like the stainless-steel feature of these cannisters. I had a group of Norway rats in my shop, and as I was hospitalized for two months with Covid was not aware of them until I finally was able to enter the building and discovered the rats had chewed into one container that was covered with sheet aluminum skin over plywood and three plastic containers, all that had food in them. The aluminum skinned one contained mostly canned Dry food, but also had several packets of beef jerky in a snap lid plastic container which they consumed. I am convinced these cannisters are the best of the best, by folks in a Foreign Country that are Friends of America and deserve our support in sales.

Marvelous product.
Got it primarily to keep the mice away. It or they bit threw the the plastic food container I was using. Now it or they are experiencing a food supply chain problem. The stainless steel food container works great.
