The front of the stone is beautiful-- the back however and sides is covered in a blue chalky substance. There is even a huge chunk of this stuff on it. When i pick it up, its all over my hands. Its very heavy and feels real, has a nice energy, but they should mention somewhere in the description that they do something to these geode's to enhance the colour. I want to order more, but i honestly feel i should get a discount on the next order because of the chunky chalk stuff all over the one i received (doubt that will happen though haha) The picture inserted is the back. so yea, two stars subtracted for the chalk and mess. if not for that, i would give 5. Also keep in mind there are two sizes to choose from; i chose the smaller. The other reviewers here complaining of size obviously didnt realize they had a size choice.Update: Amazon refunded the full price of the stone, so i ordered another one, this time the largest size. This time no chalky stuff, however in size it was the same, just weighed slightly more!! So idk if they messed up and gave me the wrong size or what... the stone is nice but i think thats the last time i order one of these. I think its touch and go with these.

I'm not sure if it's my fault for not understanding how the weight of a geode translates into size in inches but I thought these could be used as book ends. I ordered two. Imagine my surprise when I recieve them and find out they are small enough to fit in my palm. I have geode books ends I purchased at Home Goods that are 3 times the size and were the same price. This was supposed to be a gift so I'm super disappointed. The color of the "red" shows a really nice neutral/natural looking color in all the images. The one you will see in my pictures that is bright orange, almost a subtle rainbow, is what I received. While it's a really neat color pattern it's not what I was looking for as it clashes with the other color I chose (which matched the images shown).To be fair I must say that the geodes are very pretty. If I was not so shocked by the size and bummed out by the color they could be ok. One other thing to note is that neither have very deep center crevices that show the crystilazation. The product images show much deeper ones and I think it has a nicer appearance that way. Buying something like this online is always a gamble so I can't fault the seller for my personal preferences but I do wish they would give a general size range so you know what to expect (NOT bookends).If you have a Home Goods near you I would recommend checking there. I've some some really great geodes and the prices are better than anything I've seen on Amazon.

The geode is beautiful, even better than in the photo. I took a star off because some of the dye came off on my hands when first opening the item and handling it. I think they have to let it dry a little more before selling . Today I learned that most colored agate is dyed, especially specimens from Brazil. This is a beautiful piece and looks great in my hubby and my collection! I've purchased gemstones and crystals from this seller, New Silk Road, a few times now, and I have been happy each and every time. I think I'm going to stick to natural items though, opposed to dyed, but I still love this specimen, it's almost like a protective eye looking and watching from it's shelf!

I bought this as a gift and opened it after purchase to make sure it wasn't broken. It was beautiful and theyLoved it. The quality was great and fast shipping!

My stone does not meet the advertised weight. It weighs 15oz instead of the advertised 16-32oz.Also it has very visible cracks that can actually shift with light pressure, it was not packed and shipped very well.... The package was literally torn apart when I got it....Also mine is not red but an unattractive rust orange color.... Has a strong chemical smell.I am disappointed with my stone overall, I'm not sure if I will be buying again. I wouldn't want to get another damaged stone that isn't even the color I ordered to begin with. I absolutely love geodes but I am glad I got this for myself instead of a gift for someone.... With it's color, it just doesn't look good​.I can get a stone 2x+ its weight and of much better quality from my local home goods store for the same price.

Really pretty but I think I def got one on the smaller end of the spectrum. It's pretty small. I bought another one for one side of my mantel (diff company) and this is for the other side and this is about half the size and also looks like it was dyed a little bit. Still pretty but def expected it to be closer to 2lbs. Doesn't even seem a pound especially in comparison to the other almost two pound one I have already.

The geode was pacakged wrapped in newspaper inside a small box put inside a bubble mailer envelope. It arrived with a very large cracked section on the front with mutiple chips on the face as well. Have initiated a return/refund.

First off, this item is absolutely gorgeous! I have ordered multiple times from this company and ever single thing I have ordered has been perfect and always came to me wrapped nicely. I recommend this item to anyone, and I recommend for anyone to order from this company!
