Excellent
Sharp humour; sharp fashion; sharp dialogue; tense story. Ritchie also manages to insert some priceless vignettes about the english landed gentry; the children of the well-to-do; the drug business etc into this well constructed and satisfying story with lots of twists and turns. Some priceless casting has Hugh Grant as a sleazy tabloid reporter- who would have thought he could pull this off, but he does, and very well indeed. For once he shows us that he really can act well. Only miscast was the actress playing the wife of McConnaughey- singularly unattractive and not credible in the part. An inspired bit of casting also has Colin Farrell as an Irishman with a mysterious past(to be explored in another film perhaps?) who is working on rehabilitating young gang members. He plays a critical role in this film with aplomb. And his explanation of what is and what is not racism is priceless. Loved the film and watched it over and over too.

REGION 2 DVD!!!
I’m giving this one a five star because apparently it is a great movie however I was not able to watch this for the simple fact that it is a European DVD and will not play in my DVD player! It is a REGION 2 DVD I’m not sure how this ended up on a Canadian website, perhaps I overlooked something and making this purchase!
