Oh my goodness, I LOVE these!!!!! If you are a cross stitcher, I recommend these.First, let me say that if you are a beginner, this kit is probably NOT for you. The cross stitch material is small, and there are a lot of color changes, however, for an intermediate or advanced (read that as *experienced* cross stitcher), this is a great little kit.CONTENTS: There are six designs in this kit, material enough for all of them in the form of one sheet of plastic canvas (14 holes to the inch). The instructions include a brief primer on the canvas, floss, how to start and end the stitches. There is a detailed chart showing the color key for each of the designs. Each color is represented on the chart by a symbol, such as an X, a V, a dot, etc.The embroidery floss is identified by name and color, and is nicely separated on a cardboard floss card. No tape was used to secure the floss, which I *really* appreciate as tape leaves a sticky residue behind! The floss, however, is very easy to separate (one color from another). The instructions also tell you necessary details, like using only 2 strands of the floss to stitch this project. What that means is the embroidery flowss typically comes in SIX-STRAND hanks. Most embroidery projects use fewer than 6 strands, so one must separate the lengths of floss into the required number of strands for the project, in this case, 2 strands for cross stitching, and 1 strand for backstitching - both of which are explained in the instructions.On the back of the instruction sheet, there is a primer on how to make the stitches you will need to complete this project. Also included are the star-shaped sequins and red and white beads required by the instructions, which give a nice pop to these designs.One of the beauties of a kit like this is that once you purchase it, you have the pattern to keep forever. I keep mine in a notebook in case I want to reproduce them again.They even give you information about getting extra thread, should you need it, and provide a contact email (which I haven't needed to use) in case you have other questions or comments.When I'm ready to do some more cross stitch, I will definitely be looking up more Design Works products (they have a BUNCH of them!).My purpose in reviewing this and other items is only to provide my honest opinion based on my experience with the item.
