Mostly good...but you will have some work to do before wearing it.
Once I realized through DNA testing I was 3% Swedish and therefore a Viking I knew I had to get outfitted quickly incase I was invited on a raid. So I started with buying this leather armor.I would have loved to have given this armor 5 stars, however there is a reason they do not show you it from the back. I don't know how they expected anyone to wear this as it comes (see photos). For the price I paid ($140) I would have expected a better setup. The straps hang loose, there is no loop or anything to prevent them from coming undone. If you walked around or had any heavy movement the straps would come completely undone. Picture wearing your belt without any belt loops or leather loop in the front. It's kinda like that. One might argue they need the extra length to customize the fit, but there is still nothing to hold the straps buckled even after you trim them. I bought a snap kit and cleaned it up a bit. That being said, after I fixed the strap issues, I'm pretty happy with the armor.I have added a photo from the back to show how the straps looked when I got the armor, and then what the armor looks like after I added some snaps and trimmed the extra leather off.Bottom line, I would buy this again, I just wish they were up front about what was in the back. (see what I did there)?

Excellent quality for the cost, easily modified
Compared to what you'd expect to pay at renaissance festivals ($300+ for hard cow hide) this is perfect for cosplay and Halloween. The material responds well to leather conditioner, which softened it just enough to mold to my body. The excess strap can be trimmed AFTER a thorough fit check and you will need a squire to assist unless you are impressively flexible and dexterous. Once trimmed, I recommend tacking the straps in place (see picture of back) but leave one side open for donning. The weave is thick and feels sturdy and if I can get ahold of Johnny Knoxville or Steve-O, I'll let you know how it holds up to ranged archer fire. Tally-ho lads! (And ladies)

Great for costume or use.
Obviously it will look awesome as a costume. You'll just have to deal with lose long straps on the back however you feel comfortable. (6 belt type buckles with 16" or so of strap handing after buckled.)In combat use, it will stop a good deal of piercing and cutting damage but doesn't stop pressure. If you want to take some weighty hits you'll need a fair amount of padding underneath. Probably best used with chainmail as well. It weighs almost nothing so it will not slow you down.Godspeed warriors.

crappy reseller selling altered goods
We were preparing to attend a "Viking Wedding" on 11/15/2019we got several items from this reseller.. most of it was returned because of the poor quality. But the RFB Viking Leather Armor appeared to be descent quality. I slid it over my head and it looked cool, so we packed it in the suit case with the rest of the stuff..I never tried connecting the back straps because the description says it fits from 38-70 inch chest..so we drove 10 hours to the wedding, and when getting ready discovered that it was too small!!!Impossible? well on further inspection, we could see where the straps were cut shorter we assume from someone who previouly returned it..of course the wedding was a bust, I ended up wearing a gray tshirt and coveing it all up with a furry looking blanket from walmartand of course the return cutoff date was 11/14, the day before the weddingshame on me for trusting an amazon seller$145 lesson learned!

What’s the right fit?
First off... I selected large. I’m 5’4” and a strange mix of large without height. Obviously never wearing this item before it was hard to gauge what size to get.... given the chance maybe a medium would’ve fit better cause there sure was a bit of excess in the straps for the back buckles.... overall though I’m extremely satisfied. No part of it I can’t alter on my own to fit more comfortably. I guess my only concern would be if a smaller size would shorten the overall torso length.... if I can get personal feedback or can submit another picture later when the rest of the outfit is completed.... open to offers and suggestions or questions....

Skol
Not the best, but for the price it's great for costplay. I probably wouldn't use it for LARP. It doesn't feel like it could take a beating.

Amazing.
Overall a beautiful piece of work. Fits great. At 6'4" 330lbs I was worried it might be too small but nooo! All the straps were long enough for a person much larger than me. I actually trimmed 4" off the 4 lower straps. My only complaint is no belt loops after the buckle this makes the straps stick straight out off the back.
