Karman Healthcare S-115 Ergonomic Ultra Lightweight Manual Wheelchair, Rose Red, 18" Seat Width

I am a 77-year-old male weighing 220 lbs. and 5’10”. I have osteo-arthritis and stenosis of the lower spine. I can stand for short periods of time and walk slowly for short distances with the use of a cane. I live independently and can manage most household chores. I have fallen a few times.I love walking. For the last several years I have rented wheelchairs to allow me more mobility when I travel or visit museums, street fairs, and neighborhood walking-tours, etc.My condition is degenerative, but I still want to do as much as i can for as long as I can. So, I decided to buy my own wheelchair.I found the options overwhelming and did many hours of online research. Eventually I found this chair which seemed to meet all my requirements for size, weight, appearance, durability, etc. and ordered it.Unpacking and set-up were a breeze. The only help I needed was to remove it from the box. This chair exceeded all my expectations. I ordered a seat cushion more to raise the height than for comfort, although the chair itself is high enough. I was also concerned about the width because my desk chair is a little wider. This chair turns out to be perfectly comfortable. I also ordered a bag for additional storage although it comes with a small bag. I was undecided about anti-tippers and have since them so I can feel more secure.While this chair was a little above my budget, I am glad I chose it, for its overall style, comfort, and weight and quality. I recommend this chair without reservation.

Problem: this product arrived with a broken seat clip. I call Kaman Healthcare and they redirected me back to Amazon. I thought I was about to receive the classic run around but Amazon agreed, almost immediately, to ship a new S-115 to me and it arrived sooner than they said it would. They also paid shipping both ways. Therefore no problem.As to the product itself, it is exactly as advertised and required no assembly. All you have to do is adjust the length of the footrests (which required the tools provided) and you're ready to go. The 18" S-115 is very maneuverable and fits through narrow doorways. I especially like the light weight and the compact size due in part to the folding seat back. It's lighter than most transport chairs I have used and I don't have to remove the foot rests to fit it in the back of our SUV. After using the chair for a month the chair feels as solid as day one.

I loved this chair! It is light weight, folds easily, and looks so stylish. It's easy to maneuver through store aisles and doorways. My mom had to get use to its compact size, not because she was uncomfortable in it, but because it was smaller than her larger wheelchair. I wish the front wheels were black with some tread on them. In my opinion, this would make the chair safer; more durable; and would definitely enhance its already classy appearance.

I ordered this chair for my Dad, who had a stroke and was having a lot of trouble walking. I was looking for something lighter than the industrial cast iron chair he had that would be easy for him to operate. This chair has a lot of great features and is very well constructed. The removable cushions are nice and velcro onto the webbing so they don't scoot around. It is easy to roll and he seems pretty comfortable in it. The folding back is good for fitting it in the back of our car, it wouldn't fit easily if the back were fixed. All in all, exactly what we were looking for.

I had several strokes. I'm 37, but still in a wheelchair. I absolutely love this one. It moves so easy, and rolls like a dream. I only have partial strength in one arm now, but I can maneuver it quite easily.2014: Follow-up- a frame rail cracked where the seat cushion is attached. According to the warranty, the frame has a lifetime warranty for free replacement. Well, after submitting a claim, it was deemed that it was owner negligence to actually SIT in the chair. The warranty was NOT honored. Instead, the company referred me to a "wholesale" distributor for parts and after 80.00 for the part and 50.00 for shipping to AK, my husband fixed it himself.Chair is great until you need service and support. Buyer BEWARE!!!!

I have had 5 wheelchairs that have ranged in price from about $200 to well over $1000, and this is by far the nicest. It is built well, has large and very comfortable armrests, and is just great looking !!! The very best features are that it is about 3" narrower than my previous chairs (less damage to walls and door frames) and it is 14 lbs lighter than my last chair. I love it !!! The only thing I would note for others considering it is that is 19" high to the seat, rather than the more standard 18". Because of this, I could not use my beautiful 3" thick Jay gel cushion, and had to order a more basic 2" contoured foam cushion.

This is a nice chair for a small women or youth. We got the 18 inch one and the leg rests are too short. The leg rests is to close the the chair, it need about 3 more inches. My husband is 190 pounds and 5 foot 9 inches and he has had a stroke and is paralyzed on the right side. His right foot has to stay on the leg rest and he kicks himself around with the left foot. His paralyzed foot will not stay on the leg rest, it was hard to roll him around because his foot kept falling off the leg rest. It is light weight and easy to use, very easy to pick up and put in car. I would have given it 5 stars if it had worked but I will have to sell it or send it back.

Perfect wheelchair - works well and very comfortable and lightweight.
