Good book. Misleading pictures. Wrong product sent.
This is a lovely book for stories and illustrations. However, the book being delivered is a different version from the product pictures. The product pictures have a silver cover which I was really looking forward to. But what got delivered was a really old copy with stained white cover. I tried to exchange mentioning the specific issue but the same one got delivered again.

Good back... Bad vendor
I saw this book at a hotel and loved the illustrations though length of stories was too small.. But illustrations were amazing. But the retailer at Amazon has couriered the book every time in a flimsy polythene bag which has resulted in damaged good being delivered... Book great.. Vendor here is very unprofessional

Lovely and captivating
This a beautiful book! The language is simple and the illustrations are captivating. The best part is that each story can be read in about 5 mins. My almost 7-year-old loved this book.

Excellent Introduction for Young Readers
Firstly, the cover image on Amazon is fairly flawed and looks dark - can't be further from the truth. Funnily, when you see the kindle version it shows the cover as it is: beautifully detailed and illustrated. This has been a book that I have looked through often, but did not buy as I felt that the content was good for kids 8 years+ and now that my son is past that age - he is enjoying it immensely. The text flows easily, the stories are not too long and the way these are sequenced is excellent. That is, one stories leads to another and the child can read a longer tale broken into bite sized chunks. The images are lovely, detailed and emotive, complementing the text wonderfully. In short, if you're looking to introduce your child to Indian tales - which are not dumbed down or set in the typical Amar Chitra Katha style of narrative and illustration - then this is an excellent alternative.

Very good book. Small stories on mythology stating the facts without any exaggeration.

Nice writing & pictures, but has factual errors
Writing & pictures are nice & engages kids but the book has several errors in fact, for example, during Samudra Mandhan the Asuras held the serpentine's head & not the Devas. This was wrongly mentioned in the book & there are several others

Fine book, new myths I had not heard or read.
I read this books of myths to my day care children, for fun and education, and I also use sky myths from all over the world when I do astronomy outreach, as an amateur astronomer. This Puffin book is a bit stodgy, slightly pedantic, but the stories are new to me, and kids are enjoying my readings. So far, not much to use in my astronomy classes, but I have not read the entire book yet.

I'm obsessed! Absolutely love the illustrations and that it includes Hindu tales from all over India. I've mostly heard North Indian Hindu myths, not so much from other parts, so it's been great learning more :)
