Great quality.
I am beyond satisfied with this product...in fact I could say I am thrilled. The quality is absolutely excellent. I have so far cooked a slow braised meal and a quantity of plain rice. The pot retains even heat throughout and provides excellent results. I have only used on an electric stovetop and have yet to try in a slow-oven situation. I had an Emile Henry dutch oven for many years until I broke it. I didn't want to have to invest in another ceramic product as that can always be somewhat risky. I have also used a plain cast iron, dutch oven, (which gets the job done but with a lack of finesse heat-wise). This pot is comparable to the Emile Henry but has a much better no stick quality about it if you follow their direction of using a thin layer of oil inside the pot before you start the cooking process. The pot also has a nice solid feel to it, much like both the ceramic and plain cast iron but not as heavy as an enameled cast iron dutch oven. The pot's design is fabulous with a slightly curved bottom for easy stirring and circulation of heat; the lid is slightly domed also, and has a great fit. I wish this pot had come up in the similar product search on Amazon...I only looked it up after reading a foodie webpage's 10 best list for dutch ovens. After finding it on Amazon, I saw all the great reviews many from Europe but they can be easily translated and those reviews combined with the great open-box price I jumped on it and am glad that I did.

Heat Dutch Oven!
It’s heavy, but not so heavy I can’t put it in the cabinet. It cleans up easily!I want to order another, but now the price is much higher. I’ll wait until they lower it agin.

Love this Dutch Oven!
This is the best pot I’ve ever owned! If you want a pot that brings water to a boil in under a minute, then purchase this pot! It’s unbelievable! And it’s oven and dishwasher safe!

Everything you love about cast iron enamel cookware w/o the weight
I have Le Creuset. The set had to go away after 3 wrist injuries. I missed the good cooking and ease of cleaning. I searched to find an alternative. I learned about carbon steel cookware as a lighter weight alternative to cast iron from America's Test Kitchen. Ah ha! This is the enamel coated alternative. What I love in Le Creuset, but w/o the weight that my wrist couldn't tolerate. So the 5.5 qt. dutch oven came into my kitchen for soups, stews, chilis, and large batches of steel cut oatmeal. So glad that I finally found a great compromise. The blue even coordinates w/ my Le Creuset set. Thanks to my favorite kitchen shop for introducing me to this item. Amazon got the sale w/ a $60 price difference.

NOT THE BEST DUTCH-OVEN...
I'm a chef. This Dutch oven is not the best. The handles get very hot, even when cooking on the stovetop burners. And, for some reason, everything sticks to it. Pasta, and everything. Cleanup is way too much work. So, the best Dutch ovens on the market have always been the All-Clad models, but they're very pricey. My recommendation is to buy the Tramontina, it's as good or better than the All-Clad, and it's about 3 or 4 times cheaper... I actually like the Tramontina handles a little better than the All-Clad dutch ovens. And they stay cool on the stovetop... Cleanup is easy too.
