I won't lie, this is a high price for a knife. But like any blade, if you care for it then it will care for you. It is beautiful and sturdy. I keep mine constantly oiled, because the high carbon 1095 steel is prone to rusting. However, the 15N20 steel (the shiny part) is not too brittle and adds toughness, microscopic flexibility, if you will. I wish I could convey how good it feels to hold. The ridge on the back is just aesthetic, I can't see it doing anything useful... Anyway. This is a beautiful, solid piece of steel. I'm afraid to try it, but I believe it could cut lesser knives. It can't do everything you'd need in the wilderness, but I believe that this blade combined with a tomahawk and a knife is all a man would need.

Lefty
I really really like this blade one of my favorite but what it did not say is that it is a blade meant for lefties. I would have to pull it out with my left hand when i have it on my belt, but overall a quality knife.

HELP
I purchased a big blade from this Poshland company about a year ago.. beautiful craftsmanship. Very exotic looking knife. I recently took it out of storage and found it to be extremely rusted. Like.. really bad. This was disappointing because it’s my favorite blade. I suppose I left too much oil on the blade and it rusted over time. Does anyone have any tips on how I can safely remove the rust without damaging the steel?

Keep it well oiled. It needs it.
This blade design combined with this steel makes for a viciously nasty weapon. Precision razor edge mixed with just enough weight, produces something that resembles a cross between a machete and a straight razor. I like it.

Meh...
The blade is slightly warped (bout 3 degrees) and the handle is a lot thicker than the picture shows. Also the saw back is inconsistently cut. Havent had a chance to do much testing, but it did cut through a beer can top to bottom with a single stroke. Once i sand down the handle so i can grip it properly, I'll take it out for some real testing and update.

excellent craftsmanship
fortunately, i've never had a reason to use it; i bought it for defense when hiking very wild areas; it probably won't save me from bear attacks but the psychological boost is never something to underestimate.

This is high prices garbage and would never never buy this blade again or ...
I would not buy this blade if I were any of you guys! I bought the blade and upon inspection there were little gaps in between the layers of material in the handle. The blade itself had a slight bow in it. I took it camping and was chopping a tree limb off when the hand spun a full 90 degrees. When I tries to spin it back the handle just broke away from the blade. This is high prices garbage and would never never buy this blade again or refer it o anyone. Extremely disappointed!
