I'm pretty sure these are what used to be the "GinzuTV Knife" as seen on TV. This thing stays sharp forever. My last one was 20 years old and disappeared during a move. I actually used it to cut PVC pipe and an occasional hose in a pinch more than a few times. This knife is amazing cutting hard crust bread or cutting an over complicated sandwich in half. I works better than a ridiculously expensive bread knife I bought.

Excellent Bread knife especially for sour dough crusty bread. it is a sturdy knife yet thin enough to easily cut. I have about 4-5 expensive bread knives that just don't do the job. This one is perfect. Highly recommend it.

The sharpest serrated knife I own…watch your fingers!

As others reviewers have noted - this knife was not properly finished off as there were some small burrs present on the sharpened edge. So while the knife is really dangerously sharp, those small burrs tend to grip and tear into whatever I am cutting as I draw the blade through it. Cutting tomatoes was a mess. So - to fix that I got some 1000 grit wet sandpaper and very carefully sanded off the burrs (which seem to be on the smooth side of the blade - not the side with the small concave circular cuts.) Now - with the burrs gone the knife is amazing - but I do wonder about the manufacturers lack of quality control as the blade was just not properly finished or honed as I would have expected.

Years and years and eons ago my parents bought this knife at an in-store demonstration somewhere. Probably 20 years later I decided it was time to buy more. It had stayed sharp all of that time, cutting everything from food to cardboard. After using a magnifier to find the inscription, this is it. This knife is amazing at cutting bread, and everything, is super sharp, is very affordable, and says to be American steel. This is the only knife I recommend as head and shoulders better than any other bread knife I have purchased.

Been trying to find a replacement for years. Been using one of these guys for over 25 years, but there was a lot of sharpening over the years. Best knife on the market I have ever found for cutting frozen foods and TOMATOES! Keeping it out of the dishwasher will make the edge last much longer! LOOK AT MY OLD KNIFE!

First time I cut a watermelon, the blade broke loose from the handle....Cheap!! and Yes, I am not one of those that leave reviews. Cheap unreliable. spend an extra 10 and you may get some that lasts just a little longer than amazon free returns

I have a weekly chore of cutting up 5lb tubes of frozen solid ground meat for my dog who eats raw food. Many bone chunks come up to have to saw through. I weigh it out and put it in daily containers and stick back in the freezer - to thaw daily for the weeks meals. I've been cussing my older knife-it just made things take so much longer, having also to deal with freezing hands from holding onto the frozen meat so long- just a yucky cumbersome chore. I saw this knife and decided to give it a try. I kid you not- it was close to cutting through firm butter -bones and all. I had the job done in no time! Time enough left to do a happy dance!!
