Lifetime1479 Courtside Height-Adjustable Portable Basketball System with 48-Inch Shatter Guard Fusion Backboard

I am very happy I took the chance on this basketball backboard unit. It was not very hard to put together at all. The piece were all there and they even put in a few easy to misplace pieces in an extra washer and an extra nut. I built the unit with my little guy and it took us about an 1 hour, just pre-read the directions and get all your pieces and tools in order. It has been up for a couple of days and the base is filled with water rather than sand I did add a bag of sand on top, just in case, to give it a little more weight on the back. Overall it looks and works fantastic and the price is not too bad as it feels pretty sturdy. I would not hang off the rim, but for let kids play basketball it is a big win I give it five stars easily.

My 8yo son is getting a lot of use out of this. He saved for a year to buy it himself and we ordered it on Christmas day. It was delivered on time. It did take me about 4 hours to assemble, but the instructions were clear and everything was bagged according to the step in the process it was needed. I enjoy assembling things like this and like to think I'm good at it, lol. I did need a second adult to help just because there are times you need to balance things. Raising and lowering the rim is ok. It's not hard, but it's not something I want to do every day. So until he grows, it's staying put. We filled the base with water and haven't had any problems with it.

This is a solid hoop, that was very easy to assemble, did it alone but it does take some time, and so far seems very sturdy and is easy to raise/lower.

I purchased this product for my kids for Christmas and we have played endless hours of hoops since then. My husband and I put it together in about 2 hours without major problems. This is a sturdy, well made basketball hoop and appears to be able to last many years. I love that it is easily adjustable and stands upright very well when filled with water.

Looks good and went together fairly easily without help, however as I out it together on Christmas eve, I did not notice the shipping damage and it was until the next morning that the kids went out to see the basketball goal that we noticed it was leaking and on further inspection the corner was damaged. It is what it is, but to late to return, so really not that happy with it. Have filled it with a couple hundred LBS of sand, which will make it a real pain to move, if we ever want to move it...

Instructions were not clear. Several nuts did not match bolts well.

Be very patient or my advice is to just pay someone else to put this thing together. You do really need 2 people and at least 3 hours, the last steps getting the backboard with the adjustable height mechanism together were a little unclear in the directions and took us quite a bit of time. After all is said and done can't get the hoop level, it's kind of tilting up. Otherwise good value for the money and seems to be relatively well built and sturdy.

I replace a Huffy system where the backboard cracked that the pole rusted away because of a terrible design. I purchased this one because it used a polycarbonate backboard that is shatterproof. It works great. The instructions were easy to follow and it took me under two hours to assemble. The only issue was the horizontal bars that attach the backboard to the pole. The instructions make it seem like it should be tightly attached and completely horizontal. This is is incorrect. I checked with Lifetime and the nuts simply have to have the screw top fully through the nut.

We are happy with this item. It was easy to set up with clear easy to follow instructions.It is strong enough for my 6’2” husband to slam dunk the basket ball and grab the rim.We have already enjoyed it for hours.

Great product

Good product. Assembly took me 2.5 hours, with a bit of help from my kids, holding things (especially when attaching the backboard to the pole), I should note that I am fairly well versed in assembling items and can follow instructions well. I bought gel for the base off of Amazon as well, it absorbs 400x its weight in water, so that made stabilizing the base easy. We’ve only had it up for an hour and the kids are enjoying it.
