This belt is uaeful to transfer patient from bed to wheel chair who is young and disable.

This belt works well for our purposes. It is used for guiding my husband as he makes transfers and needs just a little reassurance in keeping him from falling. I like having the grab handles and the larger size as an option. Also, the buckle is much easier to deal with than than the regular belt we had been using.

This gait belt is ok but really need one with a metal latch the physical therapist said the plastic one have a tendency to come apart

This has been a back saver for certain. I am a spouse/caregiver for a larger man. This product in this size was not available in the medical supply stores in my county! So I was extra-pleased when I found it on Amazon. I am a Prime Member, so shipment was included. Such a deal(:D)! After a professional showed me how to use it properly, I have found it easy to help my husband get up from a sitting position.

I purchased this gait belt to assist in getting my father into a standing position and it worked well for this purpose until the day (today) that the buckle, which was securely fastened, simply released due to the amount of force I was using to assist my father to stand. Another review made the same point, DO NOT buy a gait belt with a plastic quick release buckle; instead buy the type of gait belt with a metal, thread through type buckle which is safer.
