What can I say about a block of steel? It’s shiny and it’s hard! Lol! Seriously though.... compared to other stores I have looked at, this was a GREAT buy for the SIZE of the block!

This is a little too thin to be of any practical use. It is hard, but not as hard as a bench block should be. I would call this "half hard" steel. Tested with a 6oz chasing hammer, the dents created by a piece of *dead soft* copper wire ruined the block. It is easy to use, however, as anvil-type tools generally don't require manuals.

Not quite the dimensions stated. See pictures. Little rough around the edges. Good solid weight. Product lightly oiled in packaging which is to be expected. Not packaged properly for shipment. Block was packaged in a bag. That bag packed in small cardboard box that wasn’t taped shut to keep it from falling out, so it fell out and tumble around it’s journey in a medium size box with another small item in same package (however, no damage occurred to either product).

It does just what it's supposed to, and the surface is good for my chasing hammer on fine metals. Shipping was prompt. I've learned to use a small flat leather "sand bag" beneath it to muffle the noise. It's a handy and essential tool for the jewelry I make so I'm glad I found a good one!

This is a great metal bench block.

Purchased to stamp brass tags on.Has been flawless.Unexpected value for money for my brass tag projects.

Smells a little weird but its just a regular metal smell. Most cost effective option I could find for small metal stamping jobs.

Was exactly what I was looking for. Heavy and very sturdy.

Exactly as described…small but works….I put a 1/4 inch pad underneath to reduce noise

This is perfect for the metal stamping of jewellery and cutlery as a hobby
