Has the Patch problem on the PS3 version been fixed?

I bought this game for my son and I honestly don't know what the "patch" is :) but all I know is that he said that the game is flawless with no problems whatsoever. Hope this helps.

YOU CAN'T USE 2.0 CHARICTERS ON THE ORIGINAL GAME BUT YOU CAN USE THE ORIGINAL FIGURES IN 2.0 (sorry capslock was on)
