Great starter set of brushes - no leaks, no mess, and easy to use
These are perfect for beginners - kids and adults alike. I purchased them to do crafts with my granddaughters; we painted all afternoon with no mess and it took me about 10 minutes to clean up afterward. The button on the side of the barrel allows you to control when, and how much, water comes out. The reservoir holds enough water to paint a 5 x 7 without interruption. The set includes all you need to start, from flat tips to small pointed tips (includes S, M, and L of both types). No messy cups of water threatening to spill on the workspace, the brushes did not leak and were a pleasure to use.Only one issue: one of the brushes had a back-flow issue and was drawing paint/water into the reservoir. Could be that the one-way valve was in backward; I will look into the it. Even with this minor issue, I highly recommend this product.

Easy to use & easy to clean-up!
I was so excited to see how these water brushes looked, felt, and worked! They were wonderful and I was surprised to see such long barrels for water! I tested them out today & I am pleased to recommend this set to any who want less mess when painting. When I had ordered watercolor brush paints the kit included a cheap version of a water brush. It didn't work very well for me. But I am so glad that I purchased these! Thanks Gen Crafts.

Easy to use with great flow control & nice variety in this set!
Reading the other reviews I think it's just inexperience with this type of water brush. This is a very easy to use water brush but you do have to use a light touch when pressing the button for the control of water. It already has a continual flow of water so as soon as your brush presses against the paper you should have some water flowing...not a lot...just a little..then if you lightly press the button one droplet slides down the tip to the brush and if you want more you squeeze a little more and so on...it takes practice. What I like to do when I get a new water brush is add a little bit of water to it that has a little color like I use blue. Then all I do is practice squeezing out droplets of water to a piece of paper so I can see what amount of pressure produces how much water. Then I draw some lines with watercolor pencils and practice blending them out with the brush but you can do the same with watercolors too. You can draw circles & practice spreading your paints around in the circle with the brush to get used to the flow that way too. The buttons on these pens are very easy to press & I have arthritis so I appreciate the ease of use and I had absolutely no problem getting them apart or back together but you are twisting just above the little button so hold the grip just below the button for the bottom half & then hold the top just above the button then twist off its pretty easy. It will start to leak if you let the water level get too low so when it gets to about 1/3 full you should fill it back up.This is a great set of pens, it keeps me from using too much water & I love the control! I think you will love these pens!

Love these!
Wonderful value for brushes that make traveling with watercolor so easy! These have the push button, which is easier for me to control than the squeeze activated ones.

Durn things are threaded backwards--They are lefty tighty
I have had these awhile, and I had filled 2-3 of them. They are nice, large reservoirs, nothing special to say about them. EXCEPT, I just spent an embarrassing 15-30 minutes trying to unscrew to fill one, cranking on it. The little rubbery part twisted sadly. I knew it couldn't be on that tight. I tried twisting and pulling on the knob on the end. I felt a little give...was that how??? Pliers proved that to be an inadequate theory.I googled. I found nothing about gencrafts waterbrush stuck. Finally I came back here, where I bought them weeks back. I search the reiviews for "open" and found two pointing out that they are threaded backwards. Geez, Louise. ROTFL

Amazing set
I really love these brushes. They are easy to use and clean. The multiple sizes make it easy to create different strokes and shapes which make these very handy. I have a lot more control over the amount of water used. I also use my GenCrafts watercolor palette and watercolor paper pad. I absolutely recommend their products 100%

Nice set
Great set, but one leaks a tiny bit (maybe at the push-button), still usable. Good water control. Purchased for the flat set, mostly still using Pentel for pointed.

Good quality water brushes
Veey easy to control the water gliw by pressing the slightly elevated button. The brush is synthetic but, holds a good amount of water, and applies it evenly. I use some to add diluted inks for water color washes. Pleasure to paint with these multi width water brushes.
