Awesome
As an owner (and reviewer) of the original G1 headset/controller I can report that this (the D3/G2 version) is much, MUCH improved. First, the controls are laid out more logically, with the order of the Android back, home, and menu keys as they should be, and the volume control is now on the top. You can easily by feel control everything without having to take a peek under your headset - nice. There is now a mouse trackpad that by the way works like an older laptop trackpad - no pinch to zoom like a smartphone but overall it works great, and is a welcome addition. Play and pause movies with a tap. The internals are also updated with a nice speedy processor and video chips, and it runs Android 7 which is not too shabby at all. The Google Play Store is there within the built in apps, it's legit, and works for every app I have wanted to download so far EXCEPT, curiously, Netflix (!) Well, not to worry, there is a way to get Netflix on the D3 (or G2) after all, and it too is perfectly legit. You just have to bypass the Play Store and get it from another source (do a search for apkpure, go to their site and follow the directions.) It's easy and pretty foolproof I believe. Netflix now works beautifully, just as it does on my other devices. Also any other app you just cant seem to find in Google Play Store will mostly likely be available there. Why Netflix is not available for download from the Play Store I do not pretend to know, but I have a hunch it has to do with Goovis not being a major player in the tablet/smartphone world and this device is neither a smartphone or a tablet. Something maybe they need to work on. Maybe it will be fixed soon but in my opinion it should not be a deal breaker even if it were not. So, overall I am really happy with my new D3 controller which by the way works flawlessly with my G1 headset. I gave it 4 stars because, well, nothing is perfect and there are after all a few flaws here and there. But ... It appears the makers of Goovis will now be furnishing timely upgrades as they become available so here's hoping this product will become even better. I am not much of a review writer so I am sure there is a lot that I have not covered, I just wanted to get a few facts out there as best I could, but if there are any questions I would be happy to try and answer.

SUPERB GOOVIS D3
It's a good product. The actually version firmware is Android 7. The new version Android will arrive soon. Continue like this.

Good Battery, Bad Function
Bluetooth circuitry for its intended Goovis headset apparently resides in the D3 itself, not the headset, so can only Bluetooth when Goovis is HDMIed to and thus viewing content within in the D3. For other outside content, cabling relegates the D3 to a mere power source, bypassing its own circuitry. Then, when using, the obsoleted Android TV 7.1 is woefully clumsy, with occasional freezing, 4-way control arrows not scrolling pages or allowing you to highlight all the given selection buttons within an app, and non-intuitive placement of settings. For instance, to overcome the limitations of the 4-way control arrows you can turn on the touchpad for the mouse, but finding the right settings page for that option was a search for me. Then, once activated, the touchpad is located under where your palm will be as you use other controls resulting in many spurious cursor movements and entries. Finally, the USB port and HDMI port are just a bit too close for most USB carriers to fit. I had to use a slimmer extension cable to get past the HDMI cable to use the USB. It is, however, a great battery system. In short, the D3 is the primary reason why I returned both the excellent Goovis Pro headset and its unfortunate partner, the D3.

A surprising and versatile miniPC.
Wifi connected to my router and I was browsing the web and connected to Amazon prime quickly. I couldn't get it to attach (or even see) any SAMBA shares though. Even with SAMBA 1 enabled. Since PCs all over my house (and next door) and my Android phone all connect without a problem and since it WAS connected to the internet, I was stumped. But even though it supposedly isn't capable of ethernet, I bought an ethernet to USB adaptor here (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087QFQW6F?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details) and connected it to my router and the USB to the player and BAM - I was connected to my SAMBA shares. It's a quick player - and has a very nice video output. I'm kind of disappointed about the no wifi SAMBA, but all in all it's a nice player.

No instructions or videos that are in the least bit helpful in setting up the d3
Absolutely no support absolutely no instructions absolutely no way to proceed absolutely no help from technical support I am a really good technician believe it or not and the setup software built in doesn't work for me they have videos that show me some things but none of what I'm trying to accomplish which is simply to make the thing so I can use it I would highly recommend that you avoid this product until such time as someone's willing to show us how to use it

Powerful, portable, works great with Goovis Glass
This is the best companion for Goovis head-mounted display, especially during traveling. The Goovis display connects to this player with just the builtin HDMI cable, no extra usb power is needed. The device is small, light-weighted but powerful. Functionality wise, with essential Android apps, it's fluent to stream from my local NAS server as well as from flash storages. It also works well with Bluetooth headphones.

A great portabe mini video player
It operates well as advertised. Build quality seems good as well. The fast forward, reverse, and pause functions work as a good video player should. Picture quality and resolutions are meeting my expectations. I am satisfied with it. The player runs quite warm after a while, just be sure you don't block its cooling vents.
