Don Rose's Research to Revenue should be required reading for ...
Don Rose's Research to Revenue should be required reading for every academic entrepreneur, every tech transfer office professional, and every investor/entrepreneur engaging with university inventors. The book gives cogent, real world examples of what works and - just as relevant - what does not work. There are clear tables for vexing processes that can haunt translational research, which can serve as a how to guide when thinking through the steps of taking an idea from the lab to market.Thank you to Don and Cam for penning a much needed guide to starts-up out of universities. I work in the tech transfer function at a large research university, and this book is truly a gift to our work.

Startup Support Team's Best Book!
Startups are not new to university technology transfer professionals, but there is more and more focus on entrepreneurship, innovation, and startups in academia. The continued pressure to launch and support university startups has created complexities and support programs that, at some levels, become overwhelming to first time entrepreneurs and seasoned executives alike. This book not only defines a general format through which startups are pushed out of the relative comfort of the university, but also creates a guide to help avoid common pitfalls in spinning out companies. Research to Revenue is everything a startup support team needs to know and it is very helpful in understanding most aspects of assisting new business formation.

This is the best outline I've read yet
I've been doing IP commercialization out of universities for 20 years. This is the best outline I've read yet. Worth getting if you are trying to spin-out a startup or are simply trying to work with a university.

Advisors and Startup Leadership Teams Should Keep this Reference Near at Hand
I am a corporate entrepreneur moving into advisory roles with university startups. I also recently transitioned a startup company through a successful exit. I picked up 'Research to Revenue', by Don Rose to sharpen my knowledge on this space, and at once found it to be informative, easy-to-read, and a very well structured reference. The details within included what seemed like a dead-on accurate re-telling of some of the great experiences and some of the mis-steps that my own startup encountered early on during it's launch from the University. I expect I will come back many times to this truly practical guide during the coming years as I look to advise the leadership of university startups companies.
