I plan to keep this on my boat to allow use of some accessories if the main power buss is off. It is made well with soldered connections. But my main negative issue is that the clamps are flimsy, cheap, and of steel. Also the internal unit body is steel so corrosion can be expected. Brass or copper is much preferred for a device tht might be used in an emergency. I wish somebody would sell their product with correct-copper clips. I plan to modify my unit with copper alligator clips.

Let's me use my 12v air compressor to pump up tires on my lawn tractor and garden tiller, without having to pull up beside my truck.

This was the perfect addition to camping with bikes. My father gave me his older Coleman cigarette adapter air pump and it worked well but I needed something to allow me to use my campers battery and extend the wires to make sure I could do the campers tires also. This worked perfectly.

Looks and feels like a quality product !

This item arrived very quickly and was of much higher quality than I thought it would be. The wires are nice and thick (5-ft long); the clamps are heavy-duty with thick plastic grips; and there's a built-in 15-amp automotive blade fuse on the hot lead wire. I've used this adapter many times to power a 12-V pump to fill my truck tires. The pump has a 12-V cigarette lighter plug, but I don't use my truck's built-in 12-V plug. These pumps pull a lot of current and can build up enough heat to damage the plug even before a fuse is blown. It's happened to me before, that's why I bought this adapter, so I can power the pump directly from the truck's battery and avoid possibly damaging my truck's 12-V plug.

Overall good product EXCEPT for the flimsy alligator clamps. So weak they will bend & twist with slightest pressure. Seems stupid, given the heavier 14 gauge wire and sturdy female plug. Definitely will have to change out the clamps to make product reliable & safe. Plan on spending an extra $10 & 1/2 hr to make these last!
