Appears to be real Ceylon cinnamon as promised
Ceylon cinnamon is generally thinner rolls with more layers, with a weaker aroma and taste, but also a somewhat different flavor. More importantly it has dramatically lower levels of coumarin, so is safer to eat in larger quantities. I've tried a few brands of Ceylon cinnamon and so far, this has been the freshest with the strongest odor/flavor (though still less than Cassia, of course).

Don't purchase these cinnamon sticks!
These smell of turpines and have no cinnamon taste. I saw that I had purchased them a couple years ago, but then not again. Now I remember why. I like to put a cinnamon stick in in my coffee each morning for health benefits, but these are just gross. Not only smell bad, but they are made of pieces that come apart when wet. Nothing like the of the other cinnamon sticks I have purchased!

This is true cinnamon, and it's fabulous!
I use a lot of whole cinnamon for spiced tea, which I drink every morning. I was using regular, not true cinnamon, but I have read that it's not as good for you, so I switched to true cinnamon. This cinnamon is very good, a bit subtler and sweeter than cassia, and it works really well in tea and other steeped things.
