Marmite Yeast Extract Paste 500 g (Pack of 3)

If you’ve never tried Marmite, don’t get this huge pack of three ginormous jars. Start off with one as small as possible. Because that old slogan about either loving Marmite, or hating it has to be the most accurate advertisement in the history of mankind!How does it taste? Salty. Honey is to sugar as Marmite is to salt. This tastes like I remember from 50 years ago. Spread it on a slice of buttered bread, or toast, but if you’re new to Marmite, put only 1/4 to 1/2 inch of your knife into the Marmite and spread it very thin, then try it. The flavor is very strongly salty, with an undefinable taste that’s not at all like eating straight yeast, not even close. But if you start off with a very light coating of Marmite on the butter, you’ll be able to fine tune it to your liking…or you’ll know right away that this isn’t for you. One bite is all it takes to make the decision, but start off with just barely a coating of the butter. Seriously!If you’re familiar with Marmite already…yeah, this is the OG flavor! Accept no substitute.

Good value and arrived well packed and in good condition. Other than that, read the title.

The items were not properly sealed. The lids had leaked and the product was all over the packaging. Approximately half of the Marmite leaked out of all 3 jars.

My quick solution for a good tasting gravy. Do I eat it on toast? Rarely, but it is a good way to evoke childhood memories.

You are either a MARMITE fan, or you're not. The bottles came in, but one of them was broken, which is an expensive waste. Knowing that these are glass bottles, the shippers should know better. Ship it with better packing material. The product itself is great. Three stars because of the packaging. Otherwise, it would've been a five-star

I and my children love Marmite but I can't buy it in Italy, so I bought it from Amazon, I got 3 big 500 ml jars so only paid for the postage once. It was delivered very quickly, so we're all very happy. It was more expensive than buying it in the UK, but we love it so much it was worth paying the extra.

You're not even going to be reading this page unless you love Marmite, so you're already a certified, signed up Marmite junkie, right? Forget the puny jars they sell in most shops, they only last a few days. These 500g whoppers are what you need. Delivered to your front door in a set of three they satisfy my Marmite cravings and ensure I never run out (perish the thought) Subscribing saves a decent amount of money, too.I use Marmite on toast mainly, but it's great added to stews, homemade soups, marinades, bread dough, oatcakes and lots more. Have you tried it added to peanut butter on toast yet? Yum. And try a dab with smoked salmon too (on oatcakes) - it brings out an amazing smoky flavour.Shipped double boxed and bubble wrapped, the last delivery I had nevertheless contained a smashed jar. Amazon were fabulous as usual and arranged a free next day replacement. Top marks all round.

The seller had packed the parcel extremely well. When I unpacked them I found that they had leaked. See photo. There was no breakage at all and the seal was still intact so I assume that they had been lying in a very hot atmosphere at the PO Customs section and that had caused the leakage. They were lying on their sides because the leakage was in the same place in both bottles. I washed the bottles and put them in the store until I need them. I will order it again when the time comes, this time I shall make sure I order them in the colder weather! I recommend both the seller and the product. 4 star is only because of the leak.
