Highly Recommended
This was my first time using this product, and I love it! After reading countless blogs off Pinterest to plan a long-term-temporary kitchen update, I came across a recommendation for General Finishes products. While the price may seem a bit steep for a quart of paint, you get what you pay for. I purchased a qt each of Driftwood (lower cabs) and Seagull Gray (upper cabs, but ended up blending Driftwood into it because it was lighter than I wanted), as well as a qt of satin polyurethane. With that, I was able to paint 2 coats of both paint and poly on all doors (front & back), cabinet faces, as well as the cabinets in the pantry. Word on the street is that you don't have to do any prep work prior to painting. I can't verify because I didn't want to take any chances in a high-use room. Instead, I took the route of Krud Kutter cleaner-deglosser, Zinzer 123 primer (1 coat) , and then 2 coats each of paint and poly. BTW, this stuff dries really quick which is fantastic when you need to bang out for project in as little time as possible. Coverage is awesome and paint is forgiving and does on very smooth using foam brushes and rollers. I did not sand in between coats. Part of me wishes that I had to achieve a glossier finish, but I was tired, impatient and wanted a useable kitchen asap after moving into the house.

What's not to love about milk paint!
I loved this milk paint! I purchased it twice and applied it with a paint brush, sponge brush and tried the hplv gun. My preferred method of application is the angle sponge brush. It allows you to get into the crevices depending upon the shape of your door . I was able to smooth the paint and hide the grain if I wanted to. In any case, two or maybe three coats will suffice and you'll be happy that you made the purchase. Of course, don't forget the top coat! I'm still in the process of updating the appliances but I attached a picture just so you can see the difference it made. Go for it, but do your homework beforehand to avoid any unnecessary mistakes. Oh...Truth moment, I tried applying the paint outdoors as the weather got started to get cold and ran into a few problems. One major lesson, is that cold weather and milk paint is no bueno. I learned the hard way but in any case the application is very forgiving so it's worth a try.

Great Paint!
This paint is amazing! I recently painted my kitchen cabinets with this, and even before using the top coat the finish was very durable, I even tried scratching it with my nails and it didn't scrape off. I also love that there is no priming or sanding needed with this paint and the brush strokes are almost unnoticeable.

Great vintage milk paint
Love this paint (it’s matte but not flat looking) and it doesn’t require waxing, it’s thick and covers nicely with two coats. The Seagull Grey is a very light grey. The photo shows the contrast between white primer and the grey.

The best paint for furniture and cabinets!!
I absolutely love the General Finishes Milk Paint. It is wonderful. Easy to put on, can be brushed or sprayed. I redid my kitchen cabinets in Seagull Gray and Driftwood and it is AMAZING. No paint lines like you would normally see if brushed on and that was the majority of what I did. It levels out wonderfully and is easy to get where you want it to go. It can be thinned down to be sprayed as well. Used with the topcoats by General Finishes and my cabinets look amazing! I did two coats and a clear coat and it was done. Dries quickly so you can recoat and get projects done. This is the paint I use when refinishing furniture. I think it is much better than some of the competitors that are out there.

Fantastic paint for furniture!
This was my first time painting with milk paint, and I'm hooked! It's so easy to use. With one quart, I painted a desk, hutch and chair. I did not sand the furniture. Just sprayed with Krud Kutter, wiped that down, waited 10 minutes for it to dry and then painted the first coat. I let that dry for two hours and then painted the second coat. That's it. The furniture turned out fantastic! I had never painted furniture before and was surprised that this turned out so well. The Seagull Gray is a light, warm gray that looks great against a white wall.

LOVE
Honestly, the best quality paint ever! Well worth the cost (and I had to buy a LOT). I haven't used it on anything other than wood, but I will never use any other kind of paint on wood again. It dries super quickly and within a day or two is dried to incredibly durable! All I had to do was clean my orange oak cupboards and they were ready to paint! Amazing coverage, low odor, and tough as nails!! You cannot go wrong with General Finishes Milk Paint!!

Amazing paint
I am sitting down now after putting the last coat on my kitchen cabinets. Phew! They look absolutely fabulous and I can hardly believe I did this whole project on my own. I had read about this paint but doubted that it could cover without sanding or priming, but it does. It did not drip once, doesn't show brush marks (I used a Chalk paint brush) and has no odor at all. The drying time is only about 30 mins. I painted 24 cabinet doors, 4 drawers and all the cabinet boxes with three coats using just one and a half quarts of paint. I was worried about the color but Seagull Grey is just what I wanted. I didn't want white but a more of a grey tone. Now I am planning on buying some Driftwood which is a medium grey to paint the 4 doors.

Kitchen renovation
I purchased 2 quarts of seagull grey milk paint. My cupboards were light brown wood before. They turned out amazing. The paint went on very easy and didn't take long to dry. We sealed them with high performance satin top coat. They look amazing now. We love our new kitchen look.
