Working great
Perfect price working great. Die cast counter weight broke off on first hole but not needed. So far cut 30+ 6in holes in 3/4in pine with no problems. Bit still sharp. Must use drill press and clamp work piece down. Using a powerful 2hp variable speed drill press on low speed. Start hole on one side, then flip and finish from other for clean surface on both sides. Cutter is sharpened on both ends which is great. Steel shaft is deformed a bit where hole for cutter goes through. Hopefully this is related to the broaching operation that formed it rather than cutter forces. That would account for initially cracked counter weight as well. Good simple product performing well. Note these are dangerous cutting operation so be careful.

Nice Clean Holes
Worked great. I cut out some 4" wooden wheels from 1/2" Baltic Birch and the cut was clean and crisp....barely needing any sanding. The cutter is very sharp and does the job well. It throws out some very fine curls of wood so be prepared to vacuum up the sawdust. I did have some difficulty swapping the blade around to cut outside the line. Maybe something I was doing wrong. But all in all I am very satisfied. UPDATE: 8/8/17 I cut 8 holes with this circle cutter. The first 3 went without issue. The remaining cuts required sharpening between cuts. However, I feel the problem was not so much with the quality of the cutter but more with the speed of my drill press. The bit got too hot and blued. The slower you can turn this the better. The lowest speed on my DP is 600 RPM's which is probably a bit too fast.

Cuts clean if you're careful
As stated, MUST be used in a drill press with the work clamped securely. If you cut 75% and flip the piece over, tearout is minimized. Haven't tried cutting to the outside (you can flip the cutting bit around) to make wheels. First job was with underlayment (1/4" ply) so not too tough, but a lot of them. Can't assess cutting edge life in harder materials. Only negative is it's hard to set diameter precisely as loosening the set screw allows the bar to slip easily. So very fine adjustments are tedious cut-and-try. Have plenty of scrap available for test cuts. But once set seems to hold.

Solid and cuts nice circles, but size not quite as advertised
I just received this today and put it to work. The good: Solid. I've used other hole cutters of similar design that were lighter weight and had some flex. This one tightened down nicely and didn't move. Clean cuts. The cuts made were nice and sharp. It cut smoothly and quickly. The bad: Limited depth. As others have commented, the depth of cut is not great. It was sufficient for my needs but if you have thick stock, be aware of this limitation. Minimum/maximum size not quite as advertised. This can be configured for cutting either inside (holes) or outside (wheels). The minimum size for outside cuts is 1" as advertised. However, for inside cuts you need to turn the blade around and the minimum size increases by the thickness of the blade. So, the inside minimum size is closer to 1.38". The maximum has a similar discrepancy depending on which type of cut was made. The reason for the three rating is because I needed to cut a hole larger than the advertised size but smaller than what it was capable of in this configuration. If I'd known about the limits, I'd have looked around for something that could handle smaller sizes. I ended up making an outside cut smaller than I needed and then grinding to fit. It worked but was much more labor intensive, and didn't have as clean an edge, as I would have liked. If it wasn't for the misleading specifications, I'd have rated it a solid five.

Worked great for me!
I saw a lot of negative reviews for this, so I was a bit skeptical. However, it was reasonably priced and looked sturdy enough. I got one to use in a project (I made several circular holes, both in plywood and a Polyurethane cutting board), and I must say it worked out quite nicely! It also felt sturdy in my hand, and came with a nice box and adjuster Allan-wrench. It does wobble a tiny bit when you first turn on the drill (Due to the fact that it is an unbalanced shape by nature), but once the cut gets started, it works out very nicely!

Functionality
Made great, but once set it moves. Tighten the acrew multiple times just to drill through a soft wood; bow theres a big gash in the wood, due to the set screw moving. Would probably be good in thin wood.

Just OK
I needed to cut three holes with a diameter 5 1/2" with sufficient accuracy in half-inch plywood. The Amazon reviews were mixed, the price very reasonable. I went with the reputation of the manufacturer who supposedly has been in business for a long time. You get what you pay for. Don't expect this cutter to slice through wood. There is no scale so setting the diameter is a trial process. The cutter is not a blade in the traditional sense that slices through wood. It is more like a machine lathe cutter with a triangular shape scooping out very thin layers of wood. I used with the lowest speed in my drill press; nevertheless it created so much heat that the steel has become partly blue. For the last hole I did spray some WD-40 to cool the blade and stopped it more often than earlier. I did not get exactly 5 1/2" but close. The lack of instructions on how to use the cutter is a big handicap. I am not sure if and when I will use it again. Perhaps using a jigsaw carefully might have been better.

Corta bien sin forzar la herramienta aunque cuesta trabajo ajustar a la medida que quieres, no trae escala.

Circle cutting tools for use in a woodworking drill press are hard to find in the UK. What can be found are often rather expensive, even thought the very same thing sells for far less in the US or elsewhere! Rip-off Britain, eh? But this one is inexpensive despite working very well. Some circle cutters are also rather more complicated, requiring a very accurate set-up to get them to do what you want them to do. Some have cutting blades that are awkward or impossible to easily sharpen. Not this one. One reversible blade that's: substantial; stays sharp for a good while even when cutting plywood or MDF with all those blunting glues in them; and is a simple shape easily sharpened by the user. One small negative is that the blade is not easy to extract, for reversing or sharpening. On the other hand, this means it isn't likely to ever go adrift when working.

I purchased this hole and circle cutter to complete my collection of hole making devices for my drill press. It cuts holes larger than my largest spade bits. It is infinitely adjustable within its range, unlike either my hole saws or my Forstner bit set which cover some of its' range but only in 1/8th inch steps. It cuts wood plastic and some relatively soft metals. The blade can be removed and re-sharpened easily and can be used to cut holes in sheet stock or reversed to cut discs. The pilot bit does leave a 1/4 inch dia center hole in discs. Improper use of this tool can easily result in injury, so research how to use it safely and watch some of the videos also available. Properly used, this is a useful addition to any drill press. This unit appears to be strongly built. It is supplied with a hex key to adjust it. Tool steel cutter blanks can be ground to make new cutters. The 1/4 inch pilot bit can be replaced. A lifetime tool.

This fly cutter is fairly heavy and seems well made. The allen bolts hold the drill bit and cutter and radius adjustment securely. As far as I can tell everything is properly aligned. My application involved cutting wheels of thin plastic in a drill press with the drill bit removed (no centering hole), and it worked perfectly for this. I also tried cutting wood and it seemed to work well. I'd give it five stars for being inexpensive and doing what it should, but I took off a star because the cutter arrived in very poor shape. The back of the cutter was very rough ground and hollow at both cutting edges, and the tip on the circle cutting end was broken off! Because of this it took a lot of lapping and grinding before I could sharpen the tool. With a flat back and a hollow-ground end, the cutter is easy enough to hand-sharpen.
