Precious Years: 34 Teen Dance Hits From the Bear Family Archives

75% of this is lousy. I will admit to buying collections of songs that I'd never heard; usually on British CDs. They usually have more good moments than bad which have made them worth the risk. Not this one. I do appreciate hearing misses by artists that I'm familiar with unless they're from the scrap pile. A good series, although weak on the info about the songs, is the One Day American label stories such as the Amy Records Story and the ABC-Paramount Story. Known and unknown artists but the representative unfamiliar song selections are better than anything here.On this, the handful of decent songs are readily available elsewhere. Those that aren't should never have been.As we all know, or should know, Bear Family is generally a fantastic collection label much like Ace. But this is a whiff.

3 stars, but still an interesting collection of pop music

This is an excellent CD for music trivia. It is filled with no-name, no-hit wonders that will stump any seasoned so called expert, but also includes a number of well known tunes so that others don't get too discouraged.Another great product from the Bear Family.
