Great book

I have very mixed feelings about this book.I bought this book for my niece, who is a medical transcriptionist and is taking a course in Anatomy and Physiology. This is the textbook used. (My niece would like to work towards becoming a medical laboratory technologist.)This is a well-written book, as far as it goes. That's the problem. It's really more of an overview of the various body systems and doesn't go into much depth. There's a lot to memorize in any Anatomy and Physiology course, but the material contained in this book isn't anything a middle school child couldn't master. I do know of what I speak since my parents were insistent I study a "real" subject just in case I didn't make it as an opera singer. (I did both, studied, and made it as a classical singer.)I read this book, at my niece's request, before giving it to her. She's had a little trouble with some of the material, but, by far, her greatest problem is memorization, not a lack of understanding.As someone with an MS in Biomedical Sciences, I breezed through this book. But, to be fair, the book does say it is for "health professions." Therefore, I suppose it's meant to be used as a textbook for respiratory therapists, phlebotomists, those who specialize in giving ECGs, etc. It's not meant for doctors, nurses, or even biomedical scientists, so I suppose it's good for its target audience. I think I'm just a little disappointed that my niece is enrolled in a class called "Anatomy and Physiology" and she's only getting an overview. Oh, well, it is her first class, so maybe more advanced material would overwhelm her and the other students. Anatomy and Physiology is well known as one of the most difficult of college courses simply for the sheer amount of memorization one must do.If you just want an overview of how the human body works, this book will do nicely. If you want something more in-depth, you'd best look elsewhere.

Great textbook! Fast delivery!Originally bout the online version but I could not stare at that computer screen and I could only print off so many pages😔 so I had to buy the actual book. Got here very quickly and can honestly say I will NEVER do digital copies of textbooks again!
