Handy set up but poor quality control and durability.
Straps were NOT sewn securely onto tarp....looks like it needed some type of reinforcement fabric/material where the traps were attached onto the top cover. First wind storm, the straps ripped off. Now using rachet straps that can go across the entire tarp and just lash it to the bottom straps that are attached to the base of this cover. Works well for keeping wood dry. Have had it for a number of years in a winter climate with frequent below zero temps. Tarp is cracking and deteriorating, but still serviceable. Have been using a holtzhausen wood pile for many years and was happy to find a round tarp to cover it. Just wish the company had better quality control, especially for the price of the item. Ordered a second one a few years later and the stitching was worse than on the first, so either be ready to replace it early or use a rachet strap across the top and secure it to one of the bottom straps. To be honest, next time we need a new top, we'll just get a round tarp and use ratchet straps....it will be cheaper and more secure than the straps they tack onto this tarp. It wouldn't be so annoying if the price of this tarp was less. But paying several hundred dollars and having it fall apart so quickly isn't something I want to do every few years.

Unique wood storage option
I came across this product on a Youtube video and was instantly intrigued by it. Storing wood in this way goes back a long way and it was always seen as a very effective way to dry wood. After some hesitation (mainly by the price) I ordered 2 units. They appeared to be very well made and the cover is very heavy duty canvas with a vinyl like backing to it. I followed the instructions from the website and before too long, we had built ourselves a very impressing wood stack that held about 2.5 cords of wood in a very compact location. Everyone who saw it commented on how unique the pile looked. Now for the downside. You really need to be careful in selecting your location as it needs to be pretty flat. Also, I made the mistake of building it directly on the pavement in my driveway and when I ultimately got to the bottom, the wood had frozen to the pavement. Not a fault of the design but a suggestion to use pallets to build your pile on to keep it off the ground. Also, as the wood pile dried out, it needs to be monitored so that it does not fall over. Periodically I had to push the walls in as they tended to bow out under the weight. Basically this stacking arrangement is for stacking wood after it has already dried and just needs to be close to the house when it is ready to burn. It is not ideal for long term storage or for drying wood. Again, nothing against the design of the product. The one weakness of the product itself was the cover ripped only 1/2 way through the first season using it. The canvas maintains snow on the cover due to the friction so it then melts and turns to ice if you do not maintain a roof like slope in the pile. This ice buildup then caused a strain and ultimately a rip where there was a corner of a piece of wood. And because the cover did not employ a rip stop feature, the rip got bigger and bigger each time I lifted the cover. So why then would I give it 4 stars? The reason is when I contacted the company, the owner got back to me right away and despite the fact that I did not have proof of my original purchase, agreed to send me a replacement cover for free. They stated that the new design is of a much better material and will last much longer than the original. That tells me that this company has integrity and stands by their product! So overall, the idea is wonderful and makes a great project to work on with the kids. It also stores a lot of wood in a very compact area...and is really neat to see once it is done. You just need to follow the directions on their website. I am sure that once they iron out the bugs in the cover design (which is sounds like they have) it will be a 5 star product.

Brittle when cold and disintegrated
We bought four of these. The last one is still in the package. The first is fine and it's been a year and a half. The second one was put on last year and it shredded moderately this winter. The third one shredded completely this winter and is entirely unusable. The cover gets dry and fragile when cold. I can't recommend it for anyone. [The white netting in photos is what we used to hold the remaining cover on]
