Hosco Compact Fret Crowning File for Jumbo Frets - H-FF3

Just got it, and so have only done 2 fret jobs with it, but so far, so good. I love my Gurian file, but unless they start making better blades for it, they won't cut it anymore (pun intended), because they are not hard enough to deal with the more modern and harder fret materials. Actually I now have a much longer stroke length as well as a course and fine file for each wire gauge, and they are already knocking down my crowning time significantly, and it only took a minute to get used to it's feel.

Great price, made crowning frets a breeze, ill never do them with a triangle file again, much easier with this tool.... awesome :)

Works as advertised. Only issue I had was the file getting gummed up with shavings. Ended up cleaning it with a wire brush after each fret.

I know a lot of guitar techs swear by these. Maybe I just got a bad one. It was bent and the channels were completely uneven. The file would not cut in the center of the fret no matter what I did. The middle of the file was always off center on the fret. This resulted in the intonation of the guitar being off by quite a bit. I looked closely at the file and it was just made very badly. I had to re-level the frets and go back to the 3 corner file method. I was so mad I threw this file into the garbage and took the loss.
