Well thought out difficult passages. Great for working for the exams, Love this book. It really challenges the child by offereing some really difficult passages, raising their level far high from what is being taught at school. Love htis book. It has a good variety of passages. It has been immensely helful in our prepartion of all the entrance exams. We practise dwith the Bond books and my son was able to pass quite a few exams. Great book. HIghly recommend it.It is good for 9-10 years because their capacity to understand and empathise suddenly increases. This book is a good way to raise their working and inderstanding level. Highly recommended.

Brilliant book for 11+ preparation. I have used these books for all my 4 children and so far 3 of my kids have passed their 11+ and gone on to Grammar school. I cannot praise these books enough. Must be used for any 11+ prep work.

i bought this book for my boy to practice . it improves his english.

Some of these tests are very long and all of them are of a very high standard. My son is in Irish Primary School - I think the tests are more appropriate for 12 year olds. They are of a much higher standard than the secondary school entrance exams. That said, they provide a demanding test which make for good practice.

Some of the texts are a bit old fashioned, but students have to experience all genres.

If your child can do this book. He/she will definitely pass there exams.

I found the level of general knowledge required high in comparison with that of comprehension of the text. By that I mean some ethnic minority children are at a disadvantage in answering some of the non-context questions as they are culturally-biased.Overall, the chosen texts are challenging, interesting and well-chosen. There is little room to place a written answer to most of the questions - perhaps a larger layout to the booklet?
