Just what I needed!
I was looking for a light to use for reading in bed so I don’t wake up the other half, after searching through many options on amazon I decided upon this oneIt’s quite small which is a bonus, it comes with a USB lead to charge, and has indicator lights to let you know when it’s charging, it has a button positioned on top of the light, 1 click to turn on, another click to go brighter and a final click to turn offThe clamp positioned on the base is good although its not big enough to clamp to an area much bigger than an inch, but this lamp can just sit stationery on its base, the stem with the light on is brilliant, it can adjust to move in any direction and any angleIn summary it’s a really good little lamp that does what I need and doesn’t break the bank, I’ve only given it 4 stars as I’ve only had it a week but based on my experience so far I’d definitely recommend as a reading lamp and I’m sure will have its other uses as a neat compact portable lamp!

I’m a big reader and have a husband who doesn’t sleep well and a baby in our room too so I have been through my fair share of book lights.I’ve searched for years for the perfect book light and for me it’s this one.The light is a soft yellow which is perfect for nighttime reading without damaging your eyes. Different brightness settings, sturdy and it’s rechargeable.Everything I need

Light, bright, and not just for your Kindle
I've just, after a couple of years, gone back to my Kindle 4 from my Kindle Voyage. The disadvantage is, of course, that the Kindle 4 has no inbuilt lighting for the screen. When I was originally using the Kindle 4 (the one I started with), I used an Octovo light. This was absolutely the bees knees, a beautiful piece of design which worked, er, brilliantly. However (like most things which work perfectly) it's no longer available and my original Octovo, having been dropped and battered around generally for some years, is not an option except as a static light in my computer cupboard. So I started to hunt for a light for my Kindle 4 this time round. First of all I tried the Kandl because, although when I tried it originally I wasn't particularly impressed, there is now a Kandl II. No good, so I looked further.I've had gooseneck lights before and have been totally unimpressed because the necks have all proved too soggy and too easily bent out of shape. A light which is fixed to the top of a Kindle (or book of course) needs to grip well and stay in place - all along its length - and all the gooseneck lights I tried failed on these counts. However I was persuaded by the positive reviews to give the TopElek one a try, particularly given that reviewers have mentioned that the customer service is good with these people. The light arrived swiftly and, at first, I was a touch dismayed by the size of the clip. However it's a very strong clip (although not at all hard to open), which means that it's possible to clip it to the very edge, or corner, of the Kindle without obscuring any part of the screen. The light is, as other reviewers have mentioned, bright even on the lower of the two settings, but I don't find it too bright. Given that I live in a dark-nook-and-cranny cottage, I've needed to use both settings too.The gooseneck on this light is not weak and frail. It's sturdy, although thin, and feels as if it's going to last. It holds any position you put it into and it twists and turns with ease so you can direct the light exactly where you want it to be.The non-slip pads inside the clip do their job but don't leave any marks on the Kindle (or on anything else - I'm finding quite a few other uses for the TopElek and may well be buying another one). The booklight is slightly heavier than I would have expected, given that it's USB rechargeable and so doesn't contain batteries, but it's far from heavy. I think the weight is down to the strong construction and good quality materials. I certainly don't notice the weight on my Kindle (especially as the Kindle 4 is lighter than the Kindle Voyage (with 3G) anyway). If the light from the TopElek is shining directly onto the Kindle's screen, there is a patch of glare, although this isn't high glare. However, given the complete flexibility of the gooseneck, it's easy to adjust the head so that it doesn't shine directly at the screen. The finish of the TopElek booklight is high gloss, which is a slight drawback. It's not too much of a fingerprint magnet, but the top of the clip does reflect the light coming down from the lamp head and does glare slightly. I have fixed this by 'skinning' the top of the clip with some of the matte vinyl skin left over from a DecalGirl skin for another device. One thing I particularly like about this booklight is that the upper side of the clip swivels freely. This means that it micro-adjusts to the line of anything to which you clip it - and, again, it stays gripped. If you swing the end of the clip right out it props the clip open, forming a ring with the base; this means that you can hang the light without clipping it and so gives you even more options. This is not just a booklight, you can use it anywhere you need a temporary bright light which doesn't take up too much room (round the back of your PC, at the back of a cupboard, under a shelf, inside a suitcase, for cutting your nails, in hotel and hospital rooms...). However as a Kindle light it's solved a problem for me and I can now, again, despite having given up on my Kindle Voyage, read wherever I happen to be.And at this price, you can get a couple!

Just what i was looking for
Just what I was looking for, to read in bed without light disturbing my partner.Everything looks ok.If there was one improvement, then it would be the light diffusion - It appears ok for the central part and dimmer on the sides, so I have had to repeatedly keep adjusting the angle according to the page I am reading (the light is clipped onto the book). All in all, I like it.

Great product at a great price
I wanted a small but bright light for reading books in bed - my bedside lights are not bright enough for tired eyes. This little light is use great, I can have it on the brightest setting if I need it, it clips on to my head board rather than the book and as it doesn’t have to be plugged in you don’t get tangled up in wires. Having a rechargeable battery is also a great feature - mine arrived with plenty of charge in it so I can’t comment on how long a full charge takes. It might be a bit bulky to clip onto a paperback but the clip opens wide or it will free stand so you should be able to find some way of positioning and the goose neck is very flexible. Being able to charge with a usb cable also makes it versatile to travel with.I love this little light and would definitely recommend.

Good for reading in bed at night.
This is a useful light, very bright and clear, with two settings (bright and brighter). I'm using it at night with my elderly Kindle which has no backlight so that I can read and not disturb my husband. However I would mention that the clip of the light covers the top edge of the Kindle and obscures a few words on the top line. That's why it only gets 4 stars and not 5 and it probably wouldn't be a problem at all if I were using it with a book. I don't mind too much as I can either move the whole light out of the way for a second or play a guessing game as to what those missing words might be! The stem is very flexible, by the way.
