LEGO Tubes Experiment DUPLO Set 9076, Fun STEM Educational Toy, STEAM Learning for Girls and Boys Ages 1.5 and up (142 Pieces)

I have two boys, a 4.5 year old, and a 1.5 year old, and instantly when the package was opened, they loved it and were instantly engaged. Even a week later, it is still the first thing they go to. Pros: 1. The tube pieces click together easily into shapes that are a lot like tube slides. 2. It comes with a LOT of duplo bricks. 3. It comes in its own storage tub (with only a plain cardboard box for packaging - awesome!) 4. It comes with several tube supports, and optional "doors". 5. It is very easy to click together complex tubes. Cons: 1. It realistically would entertain 2, not 4 children. 2. It comes with 1 "seesaw" piece. This causes contention if more than one is using this set. 3. I wish it came with 4 different colored balls (2 blue, one red, one yellow) 4. I wish it were a little more stable when clicking tubes between a horizontal piece and a vertical piece. It's a little fiddly / fragile. 5. The flag came with the wrong color, and one of the posts is slightly too thin - the flag does not stay at the top. Overall, this is an awesome set. We had a "my first duplo" set that was really too small and have now just combined it into this one. I heartily recommend to anyone with children aged 1.5 - 5 who wants a lasting engaging, inspiring toy.

We have had this set for many years. Kids ages 2-44 have thoroughly enjoyed this toy. Making the tubes and slides adds an element of fun not to be found in any other toy. This is an expensive item, but worth it.

Recently got this additional set to add to our lego collection. The kids love it and the balls and tubes really intrigue them. My only complaint is that it is expensive as most lego sets are. I think in the long term they will be worth it since they and their younger siblings can play with them for several years.

I spent forever stalking this as I waited for a price drop or a warehouse deal, and my daughter loves running the balls (and other round objects) through the runs that we build for her. The tube and support elements are a bit tricky. They have to be snapped together *just right* and are easily disengaged with a slight bump. My daughter finds this extremely frustrating, and at times, so do I. While learning to deal with frustration is an important part of growing up, Duplo should be one of those activities that can be played with independently. The real winner of the set is actually the teeter-totter piece. The direction cards show how to build a sort of pan balance. After constructing it for her and showing her how to "weigh" things, she has had the best time comparing the weight of different objects. (I modified the design slightly so that objects wouldn't fall through.) Like all Lego sets, the box has more "filler" than active parts. We seriously do not need any more 2x2 bricks. Some arches would have been a nice addition. We have found the 10x2 arches from other sets especially useful for making stable bases since they spread the load over a wider surface without using all the bricks in the house. Speaking of stability, if you don't have a Lego table, you will have difficulty building with this set. The tube supports will be less vulnerable if they are locked into a stable base. The Bright Starts brand of plastic balls fit through the tubes and behave in the same way as the Duplo balls. They are a bit smaller and lighter, so you won't be able to use them as an interchangeable "unit of measurement" on the balance, though. If I had it to do over, I would buy a Hubelino marble run set instead. I suspect that my daughter would be able to build with that on her own. I don't regret purchasing this set. (I've already gone on the secondary market to buy more supports and tubes.) However, I think that this might be a better set to buy for a kid that is aging out of Duplo and needs a little incentive to play with younger siblings.

My son is three and a half and loves Lego duplos. This set is a great addition. The first week he had this set he played with it non-stop and now goes to it at least once a day. Pros: 1. Educational 2. Works with other duplos 3. Set includes a lot of legos/ Lego people/ tubes and balls 4. Includes diagrams for building structures that, for my son, were pretty easy to duplicate just by looking at. 5. Includes a bin with lid for easy storage. Cons: 1. My son struggled slightly to connect the tubes to legos without crumbling the structure. This frustrated him initially, but he has learned to more gentle. I realize this isn't really a con for my son, but could be for frustrating for a younger child. 2. Price. This set is expensive, but I felt the educational aspect justified it.

I like the set and love the concept, however, it is a bit over priced for the amount of legos provided and the limited number of project plans. At minimum more project plans should be available online with a download code. As for quantity, there are definitely enough legos for 2 -maybe 3 kids. Compared to other duplo sets with a similar number of legos, I estimate the value of this set to be $65. LEGO should consider adjusting the price and making their classrooms sets more affordable for all early learning centers.

I am completely thrilled with this purchase I bought for my granddaughter! She loves to "build" and we have spent many happy hours just building to our creative minds content!! The tubes included are great to make into slides for the little people, included in the set, to slide down. So much fun for all!

This set is a fun addition to our other Lego Duplo stuff. It makes it interesting for adults too! The only thing that is a slight turn-off is that the tube pieces can be a bit difficult to snap together. Easy for adults who play with their kiddos, but occasionally my kids (3 & 5) complained about not being able to hook the tubes together by themselves. Other than that, it's great fun!
