Werewolves Only (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 1)

PERFECTLY IMPERFECT
WEREWOLVES ONLY is the first book in the Crescent City Wolf Pack series. Each is a stand-alone romance featuring a couple in the Crescent City Wolf Pack in New Orleans.Luke is everything I want in a man. He is strong, alpha, caring, decisive, protective, and a bit of a butt. (Why does anyone want someone who is perfect? Perfect people are egotistical and self-centered. I like a flaw.) Too often, things have to be spelled out in little words for him to get the big picture on the important things for his girl (men can be dense in the romance field), but his heart is always in the right place.Macey is emotionally damaged, but intelligent and gifted. She has guarded her heart for so long, she doesn’t know if or when to drop the shields. It was a little maddening at times and I wanted to shake her, but remember Luke was being a butt (see previous paragraph!). As often happens, communication is the big lesson these two need to learn – we all need to learn – to grow as a couple.I recently read A DEAL WITH DEATH and loved it. So, I was thrilled to be able to grab WEREWOLVES ONLY as a short-term Amazon free offer and read the beginning of this series. I was not disappointed. WEREWOLVES ONLY is a page-turner that kept me glued to my kindle. It is well written and wonderfully layered. The characters are beautiful and beautifully flawed. There is passion, compassion, good and evil, family, romance, friends, and community. This is a world, though imperfect, is one that I would want to call home.Title: WEREWOLVES ONLYSeries: Crescent City Wolf Pack #1Category /Genre: Paranormal RomanceRecommended for: 18+ due to sexual contentGrammar/editing: B – a few small errorsReceived from: Amazon purchase

Immature
I gave 2 stars due to the plot idea otherwise it would've been one star. The synopsis sounded interesting but the delivery was lacking. The characters were not consistent in their personalities and the dialogue was very high school. There were some good plot points but they never really developed into a read that was exciting or intriguing. Sex scenes were not titillating or evoked an emotional response except to skip the pages. Author needs to do better research when it comes to police work. I do not understand the high reviews unless the were given ARCs and are on her street team. I skipped a lot due to the immature writing.

Phenomenal Page-Turning PNR Must Read!
Wow! “Werewolves Only” is the 1st book I’ve ever read by Ms. Pulkinen, but it absolutely won’t be my last! ... I was hooked from the get-go & did not want to stop whenever real life got in my way ;) lol ... A fresh & unique plot in PNR with shifters & magic, an amazing H/h & relatable characters that jump off the pages, both good & evil, witty dialogue & fantastic attention-to-detail with surprise twists & turns will keep readers engaged & turning pages fast like I did! Great suspense & smoking hot romance, adds to this author’s masterful way of writing in this phenomenal, nail-biting must read! I never write spoilers, but I do know a fantastic must read for adult 18+ fans of fiction! I can’t wait to get my hands on the next books in the ‘Crescent City Wolf Pack’ world!

Macey and Luke
This author is new to me and I will definitely be reading more from her. I didn’t like Macey all that much but that being said, I really get the way she is portrayed because of her abandonment issues. She is a tough woman on the outside but a scared little girl on the inside pushing people/Luke away before they get too close. I really loved Luke. He is an alpha but in an understated way. He didn’t want to take over Macey’s life like she couldn’t make decisions for herself- it was refreshing. Overall I fell in love with this story. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!

French Quarter Romance
I have been to a bar in the French Quarter to take a ghost tour that had a sign that read “Werewolves and Employees Only” so, I felt like I was a part of the intrigue. I love New Orleans and I love this book. Macey is a strong and independent detective with an ability to sense things. Luke is soon to be Alpha and needs to find a mate. His father, the current Alpha and tradition, insist that his mate be a were. Luke is drawn to Macey when she comes in the bar and honestly had been following her prior to that because she was investigating murders with demon involvement. Macey and Luke have many obstacles to their fast romance but passion is not one. Readers will groan when they both get in the way of their relationship and root for true romance.

Crunch Time
Werewolves in New Orleans are trying to hunt down and kill demons that are attacking women, the police are unaware of the supernatural entities in the city, and Luke, who must find a mate before becoming pack alpha, falls for a human cop. This was a great shifter book with an interesting storyline and characters.

Get it now!
Love love loved this book! Werewolves are my favorite shifter and this PNR is off the charts sexy. But the understated star is the setting. I've never been to New Orleans but the author captures the charm, character, and cuisine of the city so well I could easily get lost in the story.

Not sure what I think...
At some points I really liked this book and it's something about this series that kept me wanting more. But then there were points where I didn't like it that much. HeheThe tropes used are not agreeing with in regards to the werewolfes...I can't help to find it wierd that they can shift and still wear all their clothes and anything in their pockets when they shift back to human form.I also wasn't a fan of a "Congress" of werewolfes being in charge, or that becoming an Alpha was almost a petition. I am more a fan of Alpha's being Alpha's because they are bigger, stronger and the most badass. HeheBut I did like Mace's abilities and her character. And I did like Luke. The book isn't badly written... It just wasn't the tropes I love.

This is a new author for me and I have to say that I really enjoyed this book and it kept me intrigued and gripped from the start.Macey is detective in New Orleans who seems to have psychic abilities. But there is more to her than she herself realizes.Luke is a wolf shifter who is next in line to be alpha and is following Macey on all her violent assault cases. They up developing feelings for each other only for Luke its doomed from the start as he needs to mate with a wolf shifter before he comes Alpha.Fated love...secrets....paranormal goings on.

Wow! Wonderful, exciting, spine tingling and romantic.
I loved this story about Macey, a detective with hidden powers and Luke, a werewolf and future alpha. There was excitement, danger, romance and twists in this tale. The secondary characters contributed well to the storyline (both evil and good ones) and I enjoyed seeing how they interacted with Macey. It was exciting to see the relationship between Macey and Luke developing and how Luke didn't give up on them. I thoroughly recommend this book to others who like this genre and will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

Very strange concept
A werewolf culture that is a cross between a business empire and the Masons; demons that seem more like vampires - translocating in a puff of smoke, and disintegrating into a pile of ash when killed - the whole thing felt like a blend of Dallas and X-men seasoned with a dash of Aliens. It was a struggle to finish, largely because the paranormal elements seemed to be constructed simply to provide obstacles for the romance and quickly became unbelievable. The romance itself kept going over the same ground without really progressing. The book didn’t work for me. Sadly, this author is going onto my ‘don’t bother’ list.

Enjoyable start to the series
Macey and Luke are working the same case, except she is a cop and he is a werewolf. Macey is falling in love but a misunderstanding causes her to back away and doubt Luke. Luke is on a tight timescale to find his mate before he becomes. I enjoyed this book and read it in one day.
