Shrek the Whole Story Quadrilogy [Blu-ray] [2010] [US Import]

This is really a fantastic Shrek box,With al the 4 movies packed in 1 set!The Shrek movies are also the best animated ones of Dreamworks.Well, ...How to train your dragon comes really close!The HD video quality is really eye candy,Crystal clear with beautifull colors popping of your screen.And the HD audio quality is also a BIG + (esspecially when you have a 7.1 or 5.1 HD set ofcourse)The outside box what holds the Blu-Ray's together is really an artwork, Hihi.So it looks very great in your movie collection.Besides all the very positive news, ...I do have some little bad news to mention.The box says "The Whole Story"But it is not the whole complete story in my eyes!It missing the short movies unluckely :(1. Shrek - The halls2. Shrek - Scared shrekless3. Shrek - 3D (the 15 minutes 3D animation that was given out during Shrek 1 DVD period)As these 3 shorts were also standing on the set, Than it would be "The Whole Story" for me.But despite the small minus, It is really a fantastic box.So a real must have for any animation fan or movie collector!!!Greets Ferry, ...

I got my copy of this pretty cheap and it was in great condition too so but as for the actual content, Who doesn't like Shrek? Well if you don't then this would be a stupid buy for you obvs!! In my opinion Shrek 2 is the best of the lot & the third the worst of the lot. and the the first and last are pretty the same rating wise and they are pretty good. This collection of all four films is a must for any collecor.

Firstly, this is a bit of a mixed bag. in some ways it's great, all four major films, but as said in another review there is definately room for improvement.First the films though and Shrek is as good as it's ever been. Though the "karaoke" ending that featured on the original DVD no longer appears as part of the film (don't worry though it still features as an extra). Still the same old twisted fairytale story.Shrek 2 is also a treat, not quite as good as the original but does enough to provide a reasonable development to the story.Shrek the third is the only dissapointing film, as it relies far too much on the hugely succesful t1st sequel rather than rely on a decent plot.Forever After is a marked improvement though, and even though this is not the 3D version (in case anyone was wondering) is still a great close to a mostly great series.Having seen the first (and best) 2 Shrek films in upscaled DVD I wasn't really expecting much noticeable difference with the Blu-Ray version here but was rather suprised.The first significant difference is the sound. It is crisp and has a much wider range, especially with the accompanying music.Picture wise the detail is suprisingly better than i expected. As I said the DVD looks really good upscaled, but this beats that hands down.Extras include a couple of BD exclusives and SOME of the original extras but not quite enough. No Shrek the Halls for example, and the new Donkey story would have been nice. There is a new Christmas song short with Donkey and co and overall it's a fair package. But as i have seen better I can only give it four stars.still. It's well worth finding under the Christmas tree

All four films are unique and can be viewed as stand-alone films. However, for maximum enjoyment, watching them sequentially the first time is best. The animation is superb, and the plots are well thought out. They are simple enough for children to enjoy the viewing but entertaining enough for adults to enjoy the storyline. The same is true of some of the humour - basic and simple for children, but with another layer that children will probably miss, but that won't be wasted on older/adult viewers.Quite simply, a brilliant series of films.Excellent prompt supply from Amazon ensured the delivery was in advance of the estimated date.

It was a present from my Boyfriend for valentines day and I have watched it countless times since then. The quality is perfect and the price is about right for the product. The Box was a bit damaged but that could have happened in transit, the blu-rays themselves were in perfect working order

All the excellent Shrek movies in one box set, this is a wonderful collection. The only reason you wouldn't buy this is if you have the movies already, or you're a stoodge. We watch these repeatedly and the high definition just makes the experience all the better, don't forget, bluray gives you HD audio too and the soundtracks to these movies is one of the best going.

Having watched Shrek 1 which I enjoyed but my 5 year old was not as interested in, I thought perhaps the sequels would be worth seeing. And I am so glad... he watched all three new ones over the weekend and thought they were brilliant! Hubbie and I managed to catch part of each, can't wait to see them in the entirety as they continue the high standard of comedy! Plus the DVDs are in small cases, so the box set is smaller than most, easy to store.
