Exmark Lazer Z perfect fit
While mowing last weekend, my 2005 vintage Exmark Lazer Z (27hp Kohler Command Pro engine) died while mowing and would not attempt to start again. After some troubleshooting, I found one of the 20A fuses under the seat was blown. The next morning, I replaced the fuse and decided to attempt mowing again, unsure what caused it to blow. As soon as I engaged the PTO switch, the 20A fuse blew again. After checking the PTO switch, and verifying that the fuse would not blow with the clutch power disconnected, I concluded the problem was the likely the clutch.I called the local Exmark dealer, and they had a clutch in stock, but the cost was $391. So I decided I could wait a few days to buy online, though I'm sure the neighbors were a little agitated at how high my grass was getting. I zeroed in on the 8TEN clutch, since the price is very reasonable and I've had good results with some other 8TEN lawn equipment parts I've bought. In reading the reviews on this clutch, I saw at least one that gave me pause because the person said he had significant issues getting the clutch to fit his Exmark. The person said he had to put the clutch in reverse orientation of his original Exmark clutch location, with the pulley toward the rear of the mower, and that this caused issues with the belt fitting. My guess is he didn't realize that the bushing for the mounting bolt can be placed on either side of the clutch. Mine came with the mounting bolt bushing on the wrong side for the Exmark as well, but all you have to do is tap it out with a screwdriver or a drift, and then you can reinsert it on the correct side (I'm sure that orientation is correct for some mowers, but not the Exmark). The part fits perfectly once the bushing is moved to the clutch side instead of the pulley side of the unit.It took me a total of about 20 minutes to replace my old clutch. I just mowed my 2 1/2 acre yard, and it worked perfectly. If you have an Exmark Lazer Z, don't be afraid of this part working -- it fits great. Hopefully this will get me another 15 years!

Bearing failure
The bearings went out in less than a year and caused the motor to lock. Once the part was pulled off the motor started immediately.

Worked perfectly.
I mounted this on my 2002 Exmark 72" lazer Z. The bushing has to be flipped to the side away from the motor. Very easy. I have about 6 hours on this as of today. my original warner lasted 20 years so the bar is set very high.

This part falls short of my expectations.
This product did not function properly. It was made incorrectly. On the original, the pulley was closest to the engine. This part was made so the pulley is on the outside and the magnetic clutch is on the inside. To make this product work correctly, I would need a longer belt and an adapter for the belt tensioner and idler pulley to make the geometry correct.I was unable to talk to a person at Amazon about this problem. There is a a return process, but that doesn't fix my problem, or help anyone else. I really like the ability to talk to a living human being. The automated process almost never has a solution for my problem. I do not want to return products; I just want products that work.I ordered this replacement part based on the part number provided by my ZTR manufacturer, Exmark, for my chassis number and engine model, Kohler 27 hp command pro.**************************************************************************************************************After dissecting the old component, I figured out hoe to change the configuration. You nee the press out the reducing bushing and install it on the other side. The lackluster assembly instructions say that they make this part in a multitude of configurations, rotations, and installation directions, but do not actually offer instruction.I only rate this 3 star because I had to press it apart using the lip seal of the bearing for leverage. I would give it 5 stars if the part that required pressing was loose in the box. Assembly would have bee much more intuitive.
