Dial M For Murder [DVD] [1954] [2020]

I remember watching it with school at the cinema so I wanted to buy it to watch it again. It's a very nice film with suspense and surprising plot in the end. The DVD quality isn't bad at all so I'm pleased with my purchase.

Love the plot, the actors...everything. Also loved the early 50's look of London with few cars on the road.

This has to be one of my all-time favourite A.H Movies. I have a Hitchcock box set but this title isn’t among them unfortunately so I’d put this one on my mental must-get list since forever-a-go. I have no negatives regarding the visual reproduction of this DvD but the audio was a wee bit timid I felt and had to whack the volume up a fair bit on the telly. However that’s no big deal and certainly doesn’t detract from the pleasure this movie still gives me, even after all these years and however many times I’ve seen it by chance.I know the acting does get a tad iffy at times, but for me, that just adds to its character and I feel it can still hold its head up against Hitchcock’s other classics like Rear Window and Frenzy. Ray Milland, Grace Kelly and Robert Cummings, under the direction of the Master himself, make this an hour and three quarters of delicious suspense.Don’t be without this one in your collection.

Unlike many reviewers I don't think this is one of Hitch's best, but then opinions are are a bit subjective aren't they? I thought perhaps a good 5 0r 6 mins of editing wouls have improved the pace (how dare you, I hear!), and a stern talking to for Ms Kelly to be a bit more positive. Was Milland too old? So many of Hitch's lead men have been of a certain age...James Stewart, Cary Grant (both excellent but maybe just a tad too old? I digress). The plot is excellent and well filmed/directed/written for the screen. My one huge problem, was, surprisingly, the almost continuous, strident music from Tiomkin. He of the big epics and westerns. A great composer, just so wrong for this film. Just my opinion. Of course this should be in every Hitch fan's collection. Indeed, in those who just love the cinema! An excellent print, sound and subtitles. Extras not seen by me.

A Excellent story, Excellent Acting, Excellent Direction and no Blood to be seen .If you would like a murder with twist this is the Film for you.

I so enjoyed this film, brilliantly directed with practically the whole story being filmed in one apartment. It is always a pleasure to watch the divine Grace Kelly and the rest of the cast was captivating as well.Interesting special features as wellNice surprise to find the film was in colour too.

Dial M for Murder is another brilliant movie of the great director Alfred Hitchcock.I am a big fan of Alfred Hitchcock and I have seen all of his movies. This movie is one of my most favorite thrillers ever and everyone has to buy and see this movie.I was very happy to find this movie on Amazon. I live in the Netherlands and a lot of movies aren't available here. Besides of the comfort and great service of Amazon, this dvd release is also a very nice one.I recommend everyone to buy this movie!

So I bought this and when it came it does not play at all. It did not show that this was an import disk, and so I have a useless movies that can't play. They should have made it clear on the cover of the movie that it was an import. So very, very disappointed .

This movie is simply perfect! From idea, plot, and performance, it's clearly brilliant. The performance of Grace is phenomenal. Hitchcock is such a genius!

It doesn’t work on my DVD player

Gran pelicula y mejores interpretaciones, con un soberbio Ray Milland y una gran Grace Kelly, acompañados por el sobrio John Williams. Merece una revisión. Lástima q la copia, siendo buena, no es para tirar cohetes, aunque mejor q la editada en España en su día.
