FlorsheimMen's Riva Slip-On

I have been wearing Florsheim Riva's for well over 20 years. This is the first (and last) time I have ever mail ordered them.amazon has always been a trusted site me, for my online purchases - which I make more and more of as my years tick away.These shoes however are giving me a different perspective. These shoes don't even come close to authentic Florsheim Riva's. The leather feels cheap and "thin". I immediately went "what?" when I first put them on.I think they have gotten their hands on a shipment of cheap Chinese replicates. I honestly do.I picked up a couple of other pairs from my closet (like I said, been wearing them a long time, I have 3 or 4 old pair in the closet), and this pair is nothing like any of the others (which are all exactly the same quality)For those of you who think you like your purchase, I ask you to go into a local "real" shoe store and compare what you have bought to what they have in stock, and see if you got the same thing I did. I certainly hope not.Shame on you amazon for reselling this cheap imitation crap.

Disintegrating heels: I have bought four (4) pairs of these shoes over the past six years. On two of those pairs, the heels actually fell apart while I was wearing them; they appear to have dry-rotted and just literally crumbled. I think one of the other reviewers may be 100% correct in that Amazon is selling some kind of cheap knock-off. I'm going to start looking for something American made!

I've owned these shoes for a couple of years but only occasionally wear them for short periods of time to places that are indoors and I'm sitting down. I was surprised to find today that the side of the right heal broke open and collapsed because the heal is filled with a cheap foam material that easily crumbles once exposed. I only weigh 160 pounds. I'm staying away from this brand of shoe in the future.

BUYER BEWARE!!Purchases Florsheim#248776 every 5 yrs for over 30 yrs. This rubber bottom is defective. What country did you buy it from?. Normal Sunday Use - No winter weather usage! The heel came off in church last Sunday. Cracks started showing up three months ago. This has never happened before with my Florsheim shoes purchased. Did you change your rubber heel suppliers over the last few years? That has to be it. I am wearing my Florsheim's (same style) from a 2009 purchase, The heels are still solid on those shoes.These pictures show what the shoes look like after two years. Read reviews on Florsheim website. Several pictures; and the heel may start breaking down in less time than mine did.

Mens Florsheim Riva shoe, size 13 5E. My husband always wears this size, this style. I tried months ago also purchasing from Amazon and had to send back. How can they be too small...when the same shoe fits in department stores !!?? I recently bought shoes for myself and gave them away...again too small as opposed to store. Amazon needs to scrutinize who they use as distributors...substandard merchandise may be their modus operandi !! I gave a one star for at least looking like the shoe.

I have purchased the Florsheim Riva for many years. It is a classic style and well-made. The leather is soft and comfortable. At one time I was able to purchase these locally in black, burgundy, and even light beige. Unfortunately the stores who carried this shoe have closed. I was delighted to find a black pair in my size here on Amazon. I wear a hard-to-find size. When I used to buy Rivas locally, my timing had to be perfect when the stores got these in stock, because my size always sold out quickly. Now I can find my size here on Amazon and at a great price.Since I have Parkinson's, I am unable to tie shoelaces, so I have to wear slip-ons. These shoes are perfect for me.

You can run in these shoes if you needed to. You can stand all day in these shoes.

This is now an old style of shoe but I think it is still a classic that can go with many of my everyday outfits. This shoe has very soft uppers and long wearing soles. These shoes usually last me many years in constant weekly rotation for work. Another good thing for me is that they come in EEE wide widths. There is rampant discrimination by the shoe manufactures and retailers against people like me. It is hard when you walk into a shoe store to be basically told that "we don't serve people like you", "we don't want the extra hassle of servicing people that were born like you", or "buy a shoe that doesn't fit or leave the store". They of course will never use these exact words but this meaning by their deeds is made clear. Most of the expensive and cheap brands refuse to acknowledge our existence. Nike, and others for years have refused to serve us but recently have started to make token gestures to these minority customers. Others like Forsheim and New Balance have always been very supportive of us so I will always give my business to these types of manufactures.

Le confort de Florsheim n'est plus à faire. J'ai commandé le même modèle que mon conjoint porte depuis plusieurs années. Le soulier est le même que celui acheté il y avait 7 ans. Même qualité et même confort, et mon conjoint est très heureux, car il ne retrouvait plus ce modèle dans les magasins des environs. Mon conjoint dit que ce soulier vaut amplement le prix payé.
