Excellent product. The cup mount holds and adjusts and re tightiens easily. The polycarbonate parts so far appear to be strong and function well. In use the iPad or phone are easy to adjust. The movement of the mounted ipad. With the road and vehicle movement seems to be well controlled and imperceptible. I am using the iPad as the target for a Dual Sky Pro GPS which couples to the IPad by blue tooth. It's fun to try out different free and paid nav apps this way. The the IKross cup mount works very well!

iKross 2-in-1 Adjustable Holder Is Fantastic
I did not know what to expect because the product is made of plastic, but it works great. It holds both my iPhone and iPad-NOT simultaneously; and that is all right. I mostly use the iPhone holder, but installing the adapter for the iPad is easy. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone needing a neat gadget to hold her or his iPhone or iPad (I have the iPad2, by the way. The adjustable adapters appears able to hold the newest or latest iPhones or iPads. The iPad adapter is neat enough to where I fold it and keep it in my middle console below the radio-not even the largest console in the car. I really enjoy this holder!

Good, but take some time to be sure you get the correct model and may need some mods to be secure.
Overall this is pretty decent, but it has dumped my $600 ipad with little warning twice so I can't give it better than a good review in good conscience. The foam on the top grip could be a little deeper to hold it more securely. Maybe I should try a thicker piece. Also, the piece that hold the ipad fits onto the base piece (there is a phone adapter too). Once it just fell off the slot and didn't seem very firmly attached. I will likely glue it in place. The ipad mini I have, in combination with the product, and the way the cupholder I am using (extends out from the dash) causes it to wiggle around while driving and that may be causing it to wiggle loose at times. I probably should have bought the taller version and put in in the cupholder on the console. The part that fits in the cupholder is a very nice design and I haven't had a problem with it being secure. It expands as you rotate the ring above it. It can be a bit of a challenge to reach behind the unit to adjust the clamp when installing an ipad. There are also a somewhat limited of options for tilting the unit vertically. I found that it is more secure if I tilt it back a little but there are only a few settings and that leaves it tilted back a bit too much with the sun coming through the windshield some days. Update 5-14-15 - I have had a few issues with it since buying it. I had to glue the ipad adapter in place because having your $600 ipad go flying across your truck is disconcerting. Also, even with an ipad mini the pivot is loose and can't be tightened. Whenever I hit a bump the ipad drops a click and I have to reset it. Kind of irritating. Still worth it for under $25, but its not perfect.

Good holder for your phone, make sure your cup holders are strong before considering ordering
I've been looking for a secure way to hold my Note 4 in the car. This mount works pretty well. The arms for the phone are spring loaded and hold the Note 4 with a Spigen Air cushion bumper case securely. You can even put the phone in 1 handed once you get the hang of it. I haven't tried the tablet holder part yet, but it seems like it would hold pretty well too. I bought this for my phone (phablet?) The base can take either the phone holder head or the tablet holder head. Either head slides into the top part of the base on a rail with a plastic spring lock that's molded into the part. iKross also includes a small extension that allows you to offset the head from the base by about 3 inches, however in my use, I found that the offset extender caused the phone to bounce too much and that the press lock on the extension didn't engage properly with the base and the phone holder, so it had a tendency to slip out. I just use the phone holder/head with the base directly and have no phone bounce and it's locked in place. The tilt and rotation adjustments allow you to get the phone so it's legible and not crooked. It takes a bit of trial and error to get it right, so please don't do this while the car is moving! The base is interesting and works well in the cup holder. You need to be careful to avoid over expanding the base when you put it in the cup holder. This expansion is what keeps the holder stable, it's expands to keep the mount stationary. It has a collar that you twist to expand or contract the base. The base has 4 sections that expand from the center when you twist the collar, expanding the bottom half of the base in 4 pie shaped pieces. There's an edge (rim) around the expanding pieces that seems like it can sit flush with the top of a cup holder, or, in my case, can sit inside the body of the cup holder. I have the base all the way down in my cup holder (2013 VW Passat TDI SEL in the US) and the rim seems like it could be expanded enough to break the cup holder body if you weren't careful. You just need to take time to make it tight enough without going crazy and you should be ok. This design will only work with cup holders that are sturdy since this works by applying pressure to the inside of the cup holder. The cup holder that you put this mount in doesn't need to be a single continuously piece, but it will have some pressure put on it by the holder so it can't be a skeletal frame design like BMW used in the E39 (1997-2003 5 series) or some of the newer BMW holders that pop out from the dash board near the vents. I think Porsche uses this in the current 911 models. It should be good in most GM cars that I've seen.

One of the better ones out there
For the money, this is one of the better ones out there. After going through several products in several years, I found this one the easiest to use and the most flexible for your car or truck. I have used it in both my old F150 and my wife's Impala. Works great. Holds both my Galaxy and my wife's S4 and daughter's iPhone. Also holds one of our small old Dell tablet. Adjusts well, fits all of the drink holders I've tried so far. Fits securely and holds tight! We have had very bad washboard roads due to the packed ice and snow this year and it has held over bumpy travel to/from work 60 miles a day. No problems.

You might as well mount your tablet with a piece of string.
You know how I know a mount is useless? When it fails not once, but TWICE as you're leaving your PARKING SPOT. That's right ladies and gentlemen, the tablet mount couldn't withstand the simple act of shifting out of 'park' and pressing the accelerator; it's not even as if I was trying to leave a tight spot on the street--I have a private parking spot. "Which tablet could he have possibly been using so as to render the mount useless?" you may be asking. It's not a 12.9" iPad Pro. It's not a 9.7" iPad. It's a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8". You know, the flimsy plastic one. You're right once again ladies and gentlemen, the mount couldn't hold a plastic tablet. Once I stopped cursing at the top of my lungs, I mounted the tablet once again and tried to be on my merry way. One avenue later, I knew that it was a lost cause. Really. That's all it survived. The iKross does have one thing going for it; the cup holder part is pretty fantastic. The construction is very sturdy and once (if you have to) you expand it to fit your cup holder, it doesn't budge at all. It's a shame that you then need to ruin it by adding three plastic pieces in a silly K'Nex type of way in order to mount a tablet. With nothing but tiny notches to hold the pieces to each other, the mount is perfect for 2-3 sheets of looseleaf paper. Anything heavier than that and the mount will shake, rattle, roll and disassemble right before your very eyes. It is packed and ready to be returned to Amazon. Don't bother with this mount if you have a tablet.

PERFECT!!
Purchased for my iPad Mini, I use it in my work truck ( 2013 E-450 ) fits great, hold the mini landscape just like I wanted it to. I use my iPad for everything including professionally and I use it often. This holder makes my pad convienant, accessible and easily removable which is a big ++ cause I take it in and out of places all the time. On another note: I use my iPad for navigation now due to it being in such a convienant place in the truck and I'm thinking "why did I not do this a long time ago...?" The iPad is a superior navigator over the Garmin nuvi I was using... Superior in every way and did I mention it's superior ? I use Google maps not the built in map app, boy what a difference! No wonder Garmin's, Tom-Tom's and other portable GPS's are getting so cheap. Once people find out their tablets are superior (sorry I won't use that word again) they will never go back. Jeez, I meant to leave a review about this tablet holder.... Anyway I'm very happy with it.

This is a cool gadget.
I've used this for about a week now (even though I bought it a month ago), mostly for my iphone. I really like it. My rating should be 4.5 stars, because I think the mount should have a bottom bar to make extra sure my phone holds in place. With that said, the phone has NOT slipped at all yet, so it may not need the bottom bar, but I would just feel more comfortable with it. I tested to make sure my iPad (iPad 2) would fit in the table attachment, and it does, but I haven't tested it while the car was moving. I don't think it will be a problem. I recommend using the extension on it, so that your phone or tablet sit higher in the car. It seems really sturdy and adjusts nicely to fit different cup holder widths (this was beneficial as my cup holder is missing a piece, so adjusting the width really wide, keeps it sturdy). EDIT: Change my rating to 5 stars. Today I discovered why there is no bottom retention bar - so I can charge my phone while it's being held.

Great smartphone/tablet holder which fits securely into your car cup holder
So far so good. Only started using this today, but very satisfactory first impressions. Real simple mechanism - simply twist to increase or decrease the diameter of the section which fit in the cup holder. This creates a tight fitting and very secure mount which you can then attach your phone or your tablet holder to the top of. I've only used it to hold an iPhone 6+ so far, it's ideal. Great value, well made, well packaged and I would recommend.
