why does everything need to have soybean oil it it?

How do you open this jar? It is impossible!

I ordered these in March 2022($5.xx but now in May they're $12 wtf?) and my jar was impossible to open! Took many tries (and people) but eventually got them open. Felt like the lid was glued on.
