STANDLEE HAY COMPANY 1200-20021-0-0, 50 lb Timothy Bale, Red

This hay had some bad reviews but I am very happy with it. I usually buy the small expensive bags or cheap bales but this hay is all edible grass and no sticks! I buy it for my guinea pigs. I’m hoping the next time I purchase it the quality will be as good as this time.

This is a great source of hay for your pets. Hay is very clean, dry, and compact. If you are in a pinch and can’t find a good local source this is a great resource. Per pound this is much cheaper than the smaller bags.

Happiest bunnies ever! It's unappealing to to me, brown and dusty, but all my dwarfs love it. They eat it and roll around in. Naughty ones steal it thru the wire mesh from anothers cage. And the price is right.

This bale is cheap because it’s a very poor quality product. The little bits of Timothy grass are brown and less than two inches long IF you can even find any through all the hay dust. Most of the bale is thick, prickly weeds. If you ask for a refund they will require you ship the product back which is more expensive in shipping cost than you will pay for the product. It isn’t worth it. Pay the extra money and get the premium hay through “small pet select”. Your small animals will thank you.

Very dense and compressed. Makes working with more difficult, but smaller packaging and less bulk. Otherwise fine, but I prefer others.

Great deal for city folks who need hay. My one complaint is that this was not sent in a box. The plastic wrap it comes in is convenient yes (has carrying handle), and relatively durable, but it is not shipping durable and was the only wrapping that covered the hay. Its lack of sufficiency as the sole wrapping material meant the package arrived split open at seams and worn through at corners, with hay that my pets eat and live in drug across several states' dirty shipping facilities, exposed to who knows what weather and possibly wetness, with wide open access for various types of bugs or other parasites to crawl right in (roaches, mites, bedbugs, spiders, silverfish, scorpions, various eggs). The hay is compressed so its small for its weight. Please box this stuff in addition to the platic wrap it already comes in. Vet bills are expensive.

Got this for my guinea pig and it's a good sized compressed bale. I'm happy with the softness of it and it's very green unlike some brands. Piggy seems happy and I would recommend.

I bought this for my rabbits and was disappointed that the strands of hay are short, mostly brown, and extremely dusty. They only eat about 20% of it, and leave the rest because it is inedible. The quality is also inconsistent. This same bale at the store looks much greener and is only $15. I would not recommend this product for people with small pets looking for high quality and consistent quality hay.
