The bottom line is: Both tapes are useful. Clear Gorilla tape works better, and costs more.These clear repair tapes are like mylar packing tape, only stretchy.I used clear Duck tape and clear Gorilla tape to attach light strips to my car. Both adhered well to glass and paint. On vinyl, the Gorilla tape gave about twice the peel strength. On the most challenging surface, low-energy plastic (I think polyethylene, but could be polypropylene) only the Gorilla tape would stick.I drove them through a major rainstorm, followed by four days in the rain, with occasional periods of hot Texas sun. Then I drove home, several hours at freeway speed. Both the Clear Duck and the clear Gorilla tape survived. They were beginning to peel, but did not start flapping in 70 mph wind. Both left a residue that took some work to clean off.Summary: Clear Duck tape is good for easy surfaces, like metal. For hard-to-stick surfaces, like low-energy plastics, pay the extra for clear Gorilla tape, and don't expect it to stick forever.

I wanted waterproof and clear and it delivers! Great for decorating, using for a base under duck tape for example. Will buy again!

Great for a temporary fix but eventually looses it stickiness

There are times when you want to make a repair but don't want it to be obvious. That is when you use clear duct tape. I am happy with this purchase.

I was so happy to weatherproof and insulate my windows with plastic. This tape seemed to do the top, but I needed a skinnier roll. About 2 hours later I went back to check on the hours of work I had done taping the plastic to my interior windows...the tape was coming off and some of the plastic was falling down even. It seems like it holds up better when stuck to wood, but terrible if it is taped to the wall. Last year, I used the double sided tape to attach to wooden window frame, but used this type of tape to secure to wall. FAIL this year. It's such a bummer, not only because it didn't work, but because I just spent all that time taping plastic to windows and have to start over again!!!

The adhesive just didn't seem to work well on things that I used it on. Applied to cardboard, plastic, and glass, but tape adhesive wasn't adequate to hold secure items that I tried to tape.

So far I’m pleased with this tape. Just be certain to wash any dust off before applying! I made the mistake of not doing so on the first couple of holes I was covering and the edges started to peel. But the rest seem to be holding tight- I will update if I have any troubles down the road.

We use a lot of duct tape for crafts and repairs... I liked this one cos it was clear... I thought it was a lil expensive.. but ill continue to buy it...

The product does not stick to fabric canopy. It does not even stick to itself.

Doesn't stick as other duct tapes I know. I won't use it for outdoor repairs at all.
