Cuts through foam like butter (well, cold butter, lol)
I was making a large Halloween prop out of big styrofoam blocks and needed to carve out shapes and angles where a hot knife wouldn't work. A utility knife, razors, saw blades, etc. weren't working very well at all, so I gave this a try after hearing a recommendation. Wow -- this sucker works great! It easily goes into the foam and cuts/slices either by plunging the squared-off tip or cutting like a traditional knife. The blade is nice and strong, but does have some flexibility so you don't feel like you'll ever snap it off. This will be my go-to tool for cutting and carving foam, whenever it's outside the realm of a hotwire cutter's ability.

Worked great and super sharp
This made my job so much easier today it’s unreal. I had a 3” knife before this one and I had a hard time cutting the thicker iso insulation, but this X-Long knife cut threw even the thick sheets like nothing and smooth straight cuts even on old iso that had been in the roof for years. Will definitely buy again, planning on buying a couple backups.

Works, but some things work better
I bought this as I craft with solid and spray insulation foam for tabletop games. Since I need to carve a lot of foam, this was a somewhat a no-brainer to buyIt DOES cut foam, but not as handily as a retractable boxcutter can.

Cuts through R-30 fiberglass with no problems.
They wanted $5,000 to insulate our attic. I bought just about all the insulation I needed off Craigslist for around $300. The bulk of it was 10" thick R-30 Fiberglass. I found if you use it like a saw for the first 2/3 of the way through, then slice the final 3 inches it cuts much faster. I couldn't imagine doing this job with a regular utility knife. While you are at it, pick up a full face respirator. You will be happy you did.

WORKS VERY WELL FOR CUTTING FIBERGLASS INSULATION AND TAPE
I have used this knife to cut fiberglass insulation and tape in a crawlspace and it overall works very well. I would suggest a couple of minor improvements. I do think that it should come with a sheath for safety reasons to protect yourself from the exposed blade when not in use. I improvised by duct taping wrapping the cardboard sleeve that it came in. It also would have been nice to have the handle be a different color than black. It was hard to spot at times in the darker crawl space. I improvised by using some red electrical tape on it. I do like the fact that this knife is not serrated so I could re-sharpen it quickly and easily. I found that the fiberglass insulation does dull the knife as I have read on the internet.

Works well!
This does work well. It came sharp right out of the box. For the price it’s good. Now that being said if it was anymore expensive then not. An old serrated bread knife would work just as well. I’m not sorry I bought this, but if you have that old bread knife give that a try first. Cheers!

Sharp insulation knife
I like the distinct double sided edge on the knife but I just wish the blade was a little longer, other than that no complaints with this little batt knife.
