I mostly use this for overnight hiking/camping because it easily straps into the back of my 65L backpack
I bought this item to replace a Crazy Creek seat I gave to my nephew. I mostly use this for overnight hiking/camping because it easily straps into the back of my 65L backpack.I've read some of the reviews, and I'm left shaking my head. Obviously, some buyers are expecting too much out of this seat. What this seat isn't. A firm structured seat that gives you unlimited support. What this seat is. An easily packable, minimalist seat that can easily be attached to daypacks & overnight packs to allow you rest on the trail with padding and back support (when you really need it) and also I nice seat at your campsite. This seat is just as nice as the Crazy Creek for less money. I used my Crazy Creek a lot and plan to use this one just as much. I'v already used this seat on a Boy Scout hiking/camping trip, and as a chair back on a canoeing trip. The seat held up well and gave me the support I expected.I've given this review four stars to start and will revise after I've had more use. A great all-round seat with a lot of uses.

For the price, it's OK, but buy a Crazy Creek if you can!
Let's put it this way, I bought a Crazy Creek over 20 years ago and it is still in amazing condition.I used this chair for a few days it already showed signs of wear and tear.Crazy Creeks are about $55 and will seriously last a lifetime. I found one of these used for $20. My guess is that if I didn't return it, that I'd have to replace it every couple of years. Not only that, but comfort wise, the Crazy Creek is way more comfortable. The padding here is not very good and it doesn't continue all the way through the seat. At the seam where the chair folds in half you have NO PADDING! Sure, it "makes sense" to fold better, but Crazy Creek manages to keep the padding in that crucial spot on your rear.If you're strapped for cash, this is an option. But I can't recommend it when there's a far superior product available on the market.

Why have I waited?
I worked at an outdoor outfitter 30 years ago. Thermarest chairs were the thing back then. Why did I ever wait so long? Oh, I just said it. Because way back when it would have taken about a hundred bucks (~$200 now) to get yourself set up with something like this. A person had to buy the pad and then the chair thing separately. For a fraction of the price, you can sit your tired self down next to the fire with all the other tired, weary campers and lean back on something. Ahhh. This is one of those 'Thank You, China' items that you just can't imagine you ever lived without until you have one.I figured out that if you roll it up, take the straps and cross them over the open part, buckle them in an 'X' pattern and cinch them down it keep it rolled up perfectly and you can use the handle to carry it.

Perfect for any outdoor activities! MUST BUY!
I will never go backpacking/camping without this again! This seat makes being in the woods so comfortable because you always have a dry seat between you and the ground. The chair is so lightweight I just clip it to the outside of my pack with a carabiner and go! I also loosen the straps for stadium seats and wear this like a backpack for a quick day hike. I use a carabiner or bit of paracord tied to the top handle on both sides to keep the chair closed while wearing. The mesh pocket on the outside is perfect for whatever you need to bring with you. I have only used this chair on one trip but will certainly get a lot of use out of it! I will be keeping it in my car for quick access! Great product!

My Favorite New Thing
I absolutely love these chairs for the beach at night. Easy to carry, to store, neat pocket to put my shoes in. We marvel every time we use them at how comfortable they are. Have told so many people about them and have probably become the spokeswoman for your company! LOL. Highly recommend you get these if you like to sit by the ocean so you can see and not lay down. They clean up by just shaking the sand off. Very worth the money if you like to gaze at the stars at night.

Great Little Seat! Saved My Back!
Listen. My kids are grown; I have no grandkids; my husband’s a couch potato and I sit on my bed, CNN running in the backdrop while I edit books for a living. In other words: I don’t sit in bleachers and my work posture stinks. So I got this little chair in hopes it might help my back. And, it does. The adjustable straps have proven excellent. If I’m lounging, I pull them tight & lean back. Though the material is soft, the top of the back and seat area have structure, and keep my back straight, my legs up but very comfortably. I worked today while in it and subsequently reclined to read & pay attention to the TV. I love it! It’s far better than a posture garment or back brace, and even an office chair (yes, I have worked at a desk many times)!

Quality and practicality in a well made seat
Used this on a 14-day canoe trip on the Green River. The straps underneath held it securely on the seat even in 40 mph wind and some very energetic paddling. At night I just folded the back down, so the seat stayed mostly dry and free of the blowing sand. The back mesh pocket was very convenient to store sunscreen and other needed items within easy reach. Side straps adjust easily to provide some back support. Cleaned up nicely at the end of the trip.

Nice alternative to Crazy Creek
Originally I wanted a Crazy Creek chair but didn't want to pay the "Crazy Creek" price. This chair has turned out to be a good alternative. I'm a pretty heavy guy so I was concerned that I would break it but I've used it on several outings now and it's held up really well. the only downside is that it is hard to roll-up. Not impossible mind you but more difficult than the Crazy Creek. I like to roll it up and strap it to the base of my pack. It would be nice it was easier to roll up but the lower cost and high durability made it a really good choice.

Lightweight and convenient
Definitely supports the back; would be better with a waterproof seat.

Will get the job done
If you're looking for a premium canoe seat, this is not the place. This is just an upgrade on the stadium seats generally available on Amazon & department stores. It has the additional buckles across the bottom that give it canoe/paddling functionality, which is desperately needed on long trips on the water.I will be honest and say I was very OPTIMISTIC, but this thing did get the job done... It was not as strong or as supported as I had thought. Pulling the straps to the max and really thinking you can sink your body in to this seat will not happen if you're an above-average size person. The buckles immediately broke and I was left with one buckle to hold my weight only slightly, as I couldn't lean the whole way for the rest of my trip.I would encourage you to buy this if you understand that it is a treatment, not a solution. It will get the job done, but if you plan on being in canoe's for extended periods of time consider investing in a heavier, metal solution.

Five Stars
This thing is so awesome and portable. I've used this so many times, especially canoeing, pull the straps tight and it's fully supportive. People clearly don't know how to use this thing if they're leaving bad reviews. If you want to sit up straight then the straps need to be tighter then that to support your weight. Pull tighter then you want and then lean back.

Not good for indoor volleyball bleachers
We purchased the ALPS mountaineering weekender stadium seat. It arrived a day late thus we were out of town. Once we used it at an event that was indoor and on bleachers. we found that the support straps slid out of place, that the back was not rigid enough to support full back support, that we still required to lean back onto the bleacher behind us to find comfort (but even then it would not provide the comfort we were looking for). The cushion on the bottom was satisfactory, the back did not go high enough (I am 5 ft 5 inches). My husband will NOT use this as he is looking for something with a rigid back. I wont return it as I find returning products challenging so we will take it as a loss. Would I use it again for watching indoor volleyball at a college level, no.

My favorite
I've bought about 8 stadium seats/chairs, and this one is the one I used the most. It provides the most support when leaning back in it aggressively, and it's comfortable and easy to carry. Now - if only some company would make a seat a few inches taller ....
